Title: Server Name Error!
Post by: Norby.hu on Monday, January 23, 2012, 08:44:38 AM
We successfully launched the Linux server AA25.

By default, the following name: Another AA25.org Dedicated Server.
The aa25.ini edited.

Code: [Select]
// SERVER INFORMATION, repeatmessage(1 for yes, 0 for no), repeatminutes(minutes)
// Server name and messages colour can be set with colour=Red,Green,Blue (0 - 255)
servername=Another AA25.org Dedicated Server
motd1=Another 2.5Assist Dedicated Server, AA25.org
motd2=Server set-up and managed by 2.5 Assist Dedicated Server Manager
motd3=Americas Army 2.5, Play on Windows, Mac AND Linux

I changed this:
Code: [Select]
// SERVER INFORMATION, repeatmessage(1 for yes, 0 for no), repeatminutes(minutes)
// Server name and messages colour can be set with colour=Red,Green,Blue (0 - 255)
servername==HJC= Hungarian Jackson Clan Server
motd1=»»» Welcome to =HJC= Hungarian Jackson Clan Server «««
motd2=»»» Homepage: hjc.wuun.net «««
motd3=»»» TS3: wuun.net or 91.203.212.140 «««

The result is that I got was this:

The first picture is that the server name instead of IP address is.
The second picture, the server name instead of an empty bars.

Is there any solution?

No he is using dedicated server...

Solution...
do not use = in the server name.
or any of the motd lines.

Quite strange if this concerns only dedicated servers. With "home based" servers that doesn't matter if there's '=' in the beginning of the name or not. How you save the settings matters as I posted earlier.

A question for other people who may read this topic: How would one put an = in their server name for dedicated servers?
