Title: Running multiple servers...
Post by: butters on Saturday, April 14, 2012, 18:02:11 PM
Hello!
I'm curious how to run more AA servers on 1 PC (server). I have downloaded the dedicated server files , however it's only 1 exe file . How do I run more of those exe files to create more servers?

Check out the downloads:

As it says, the dedicated server is ONLY for use with a hosting company. If you want to run multiple servers on your home PC, use Assist and read the readme on how to do it.

Spanky are you sure? People like norby run the dedicated package off their home linux install I believe.

Now run:
server.exe GLOBAL map-filename
And your server will start, on later versions of windows you may need to run as administrator.
(Replace map-filename with the map you want, bridge, insurgent_camp, radio_tower etc.)
(Optional command-line arguments  -ID=001  -Port=1716  -Multihome=0.0.0.0  override settings in aa25.ini)

run server.exe with this command line: server.exe -ID=002 -Port=1718
if ur going to run more servers, remember to change the proces ID(-ID=00?), port(-Port=1716, just add the last port used + 2, = 1718 for a new server and so on.),

someone will explain it better :P

Assist is easier IMO. Yes you can run multiple copies of Assist, the readme will tell you how. The readme is linked on the Info page that I linked on earlier. It is also a sticky in this forum.
