Title: Problem with windows 7 volume mixer
Post by: beurt on Tuesday, February 07, 2012, 10:43:34 AM
Hello soldiers,

I'm having this problem with AA and the sound settings of windows 7.
There's this feature with windows 7 that u can adjust the volume level of each application that is running, like WMP or Firefox. These settings are saved when u exit the application, but thats not the case with AA. Everytime i start AA, win7 resets it to 5% which isn't a whole not...

Anyone got the same issue ?

B.

Never had this issue come up before. have you set the settings to max on the settings screen?

Found the issue:

Windows 7 has an option in Start -> Configuration -> Sound -> tab "Communication",
which states different approaches when dealing with communication channels.

Default(on my system): "Reduce volume of other sounds with 80%".

Solution:

Change it to "Do nothing".

Always happens to me by default. Typically I'll be listening to music while mapping and go in to test a map and the sound drops. I find it a nice behavior so you're not blasting 2 different streams of audio. Those that listen to music while playing games (other than solitaire) are fail.

Have the same problem and have set this to do nothing but I still have the problem..

I thought it was fixed there for a while with one of the updates.

Seams that if TS3 audio comes over lound then the AA2 mixer reduces.  This happens even on V2.8.5.

your speakers are incapable of blasting

They can be but being something unique and vintage, I wouldn't want to abuse or damage them.
