Title: Package antipoke version mismatch
Post by: Gamelli on Thursday, May 03, 2012, 12:11:07 PM
Hey folks,

I just got the assist client and was excited to try it out. Much to my dismay, I received the error "Failed launching URL, Package antipoke version mismatch". I have attempted to connect to several different servers and was rejected each time.

I heard that this error is a result of running a different version of the client, but I just downloaded it today. Are most of the servers still running an older version? If that's the case, is there a way I can downpatch?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

No, servers auto update. Where did you download assist from?

I got it from the link on this page: http://aao25.com/info#Downloads. I'm attempting to run the Windows version.

Perhaps try "Reset & Repair AA" in Assist's Settings tab.

No good. I'm afraid the problem might be deeper then what I was thinking. I've been trying to run the Windows version through my 32bit Wine configuration on Linux. I'm guessing the anti cheating software might not be too happy about that.

Doesn't linux have server files for 2.5?

Yes, but it's 32 bit so I need to work with my multilib package and then pull the gtk2 libraries. After that, it should work.

Mumbojumbo blah blah command line blah blah 20 year old way of doing things blah blah...

Assist works fine in my 64-bit and 32-bit installations of Windows.
