Recently i'm having troubles with sound, it works only when i enter first game, later its gone. Restarting client doesn't help. Tried to use oss or pa in setting but nothing changed. Sound in trainings works everytime. Any ideas whats wrong?
assis v7.44
debian sid
3.10-9.slh.1-aptosid-amd64
pulseaudio 4.0-6
alsa-base 1.0.25+3

Never seen this before

Trying setting your sound device to something diff, then back to what your using.
Ie if you have multiple options in ur sound panel, swap it from say front audio back to your sound card or w.e
I had to do this in previous versions but has since corrected itself, unsure if its related directly to assist, sound divers or the os or what
-
maybe he means the sound from your own footsteps which are gone after a while. but if you jump, the sound is back again

I pretty sure OSS does not work anymore in modern linux distros. ALSA is universally compatable these days.

Well i meant what was checked in assist settings, by default it was oss, always and game was playable for a year or so. Tried all other but still no sound.

nope, whole sound is missing

tried both availaible, nothing changed
Last what i have in mind is that maybe somehow army sound is muted by pulseaudio but is there a way to release mouse from game to get into settings? And does a game collect some logs somewhere?

Ctrl + g releases the mouse. I am also working on a new pulse audio driver for aa, that might help.

Still no luck, aa is not even shown there. Thats really wierd.

The next assist update will include a native pulseaudio driver, this should solve your problem.
-
great to hear that, thx :)

looks like it didnt help me ;/

I give up then, am out of ideas.

running Kubuntu 13.04 and I have it set to pulse but before that had it set to alsa. there is a pulse audio control that you can download PAV that might help. It's not the game, it is more than likely the alsa/pav is switched to another output that you don't see. The problem I have with the linux version is I can not get out of the window to go back to desktop to open the pav controls. I usually have to set them before opening the game.
