Hey everyone,
i just changed my battletracker aao2 nickname, and now i'm getting kicked everytime i try to join a server.
Did i do something wrong? So how can i change my ingame name?
Thank you in advance,
Yoshi

make sure you changed it in your user.ini file as well if you are using your old ini
-
your tracker's nick must be the same of your ini
-
Unfortunately it doesn't work.
I've changed my user.ini in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\25Assist\armyops\
am i right?
Is it possible that is a problem of special characters like parentheses? because i've just created a new account in battletracker and with it i can play (without changing my user.ini).
Thank you in advance,
Yoshi

Go to the Settings tab in Assist. You can edit your User.ini in there and then launch AA SETTINGS to verify your username in the personal jacket menu of AA.

Uhm no, i get kicked again..
In the personal jacket seems that the password is shorter than mine, but i don't know if thats normal.
I continue not to understand why my 2nd account work everytime and without changing nothing... Are you sure guys that the parentheses works?

link your battletracker pls. few spec charaters can make assist act wierd so make sure you dont have many of them in your name( i can play with elementx+ without problem so a + shouldnot be a problem)
-
The password in your personal jacket doesn't matter. I'm not sure about parentheses, you can try to remove them.

Yeah, battletracker lets you bang any old shit of text in there. But when armyops loads it does not accept certain characters.
If someone could compile a list of chars that the engine does not accept... It would help me greatly.

I was going to export the Fonts from the texture packages since it would show what's able to be used by the engine but there's dozens and perhaps dozens of dozens in there.
This was in the 2.8.5 FAQ though:
WHAT ARE VALID CHARACTERS FOR SOLDIER NAMES?
Answer:
Your games are saved as files with the same name as your Soldier name, so your Soldier name must use characters that are a valid filename. The username cannot contain any spaces. Also, the following characters are invalid: / : * ? " < > |
and
Bear in mind the following character restrictions in the login name when signing up for America's Army game account : ( \ / : * ? " < > | ) are NOT valid. Using any of these characters will result in your game not authenticating or saving correctly; in other words, you won't be able to complete the training missions or play online.
and someone who had issues logging into their account:
Ye, alright but I don't use any of these characters :
Code:
#,%,',/, \, :, *, ?, ", |, ,, <, and >
Anyways problem solved. I just logged on another account and played a while then moved back to main. Everything is alright now. If someone have similar problem try do it, should help.

Ok, using my old nickname everything works fine.
Is it possible that was parentheses, unfortunately i can't try much because battletracker let me change my username once every 24 hours.

It is only " (quote) and (space) that does not work, everything else seems to work fine.
