Is there a way to run multiple game servers on a single linux server?
I thought it would be as simple as a new port and -INI option, but 25assist complains it cannot be run twice.
Ideally, I'd also like to run a seperate pbsv.cfg for server rules, ect.
I'm gonna try just creating a new armyops directory, but seems inefficient at 2.2 gigs...

Look at the readme, there's a tutorial at the bottom.
-
What README are you referring to? There none in the Help folder, and the one in the System folder 'README.linux' does not contain anything but credits
I only have the server install, not linux client install
-
The Assist readme, located on the help tab in Assist and here as well:
http://aao25.com/2-5-assist/aa2-5-assist-readme/
-
Well, it talks about windows and an 25Assist folder and 25assist.exe which doesn't apply to a linux server.
-
That's just it's example. There's file locations in the readme as well. I think linux uses .run? Then it would be 25Assist.run
-
Here's the dedicated server readme for reference: http://aa25assist.sourceforge.net/Data/LReadme.txt
The Assist readme basically says what you said in the original post, make a copy of the game. I also think that's inefficient.
The only thing I can suggest is try out the dedicated package if you havent, might be able to run multiple instances of the file. Otherwise wait for Jonny because he's the one who knows the most about how it runs.

dedicated is what I downloaded from http://aa25assist.sourceforge.net/download.php and it complains...so for now I'll run multiple 2.2gig folders. I might try seeing if symlinking the Maps folder would work
-
If you can symlink, you should be able to do it for all of the folders except system.
-
You have never been able to run multiple instances from a single install, Its not my fault. But yes, symbolicly linking all folders except system should work, but never been tested.
