Key Binds
« on: Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 13:28:25 PM »
Hi all,

I'm trying to find out how to bind Commo Commands to a key i.e. 'Hooah' 'Enemy Spotted!' Etc..
I have found this site from Google;
http://manual.americasarmy.com/index.php/What_console_commands_can_I_use_in_America%27s_Army%3F#7._Binding_Keysnding_Keys

but I don't know how put this info into the User.ini. Please Help! I'm a bit of a 'Noobie' at that sort of thing  :P

I want my 'Hooah' Button back

Thanks,

Gunni

KeyOps Key Bind Utility

Description:
KeyOps was developed by a clan in the America's Army community, the Surgical Strike Team. (SST) created KeyOps to aid players in successful communication amongst team mates. It has a few functions that will help players to easily configure their controls and take advantage of all the communication commands available in the America's Army game. It displays all the keys that already have an action in a certain colour and those keys without an action are a different colour. This will benefit those users that are looking for a spare key to add a new bind. KeyOps has a very big future, at the moment, it is very small and simple. (SST) is looking to expand its functionality in the future and hopefully all will enjoy it. Happy Bindings!

File not found when trying to download Keyops from filefront.

I found a copy of version 1.1.1 from some clan site and is now hosted here : http://teamfod.com/files/KeyOps.zip

In the past, on AA 2.5, key ops worked well. But now, with 2.5 Assist, I don't know where to put the .ini file.
In which folder is America's Army 2.5 Assist installed?
Can someone help me with this?

Thank you

you have to do it over 25assist. there go tab setting, edit user.ini

copy and paste the commands

You don't have to get to your AA installation to edit your user.ini . Just open Assist, go to Settings and click "Edit User.ini"
It doesn't seem to have a search function, but you can just navigate to the correct area (it  shouldn't be hard) and edit your bindings there.

Alternatively you can solve it this way:

The problem probably is that you can't navigate to your XP's Application Data folder, because it's a hidden folder.
You have to make your hidden folders visible to be able to navigate to where Assist stores AA by default. To do so go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-see-hidden-files-in-windows/
And under your correct windows (you said XP), do as it tells you to.

Then once there, you have to go to System folder under armyops and there you can find and edit your user.ini for binds.

the user.ini can only be edited by aa25assist, not directly be editing the file.
