Hello,
I just found the website by accident and I'm excited to see AA2.5 available again!
I put in over 1000 hours on AA2, few hundred on AA1 also.
I have a question, want to ask it before i attempt this.
I have my win7x64 OS on a HDD, and my games on a SSD.
I want to create a symlink so I can move AA2.5 files from my HDD to my SSD.
Is there any reason this will not work particular to this game?
I use it for BF2 and Arma2 without a hitch. No problems on punkbuster , md5 mismatches, etc.
Here are my relevant system specs:
win7 x64
Link Shell Extension is installed and working. (Cause I'm too lazy to use command line mlink commands)
I have one more question, I am still in touch with some of the guys who were the sponsored "Pro" AA2 players, is Assist stable enough I can send them a link to this page and try to convince them to roll down nostalgia lane?
regards,

AA player since at least AA 1.8X I think.

QUESTION: Can I change the location where assist stores the game and data files?
ANSWER: Yes, If you want assist to store its data somewhere else create a folder called '25Assist' in the same place as your 25Assist.exe (and 25Assist Libs) and it will see and use that folder instead of its usual one. You can also MOVE your exising 25Assist from the location mentioned above the the new location.
Just put the EXE and Libs folder on your SSD. Then make a folder called 25Assist. It will install to that location.
BTW there is no training.

I already installed to my HDD,
do I still have the temp download files on my HDD? Or do I need to reinstall due to.. registry entries or PB file locations etc?
EDIT: Read the readme, I will try this:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\25Assist\
Move the 25Assist folder to somewhere on your SSD.

One last noob question, where do I find the map pack and the MaaP pack for download?
-
It's required by Assist to play, it will download it.
-
The Assist program will do all the bookkeeping for you, there's no need to worry about it.

And welcome back :)
