Hand over of Command
« on: Thursday, April 19, 2012, 14:07:08 PM »
I would like to take a back seat on this project, I have other intrests i want to pursue and don't want the distractions of running this project anymore, I would like Spanky or Blueblaster to take over from me. I will still be around to help and will still doing coding work for you when required, i just don't want to be in command anymore. I now need someone to handover the remaining donations money and the server hosting account, The donations moneys is 60 GBP and the server hosting account has a balance of 70 GBP so plenty of money in there for months to come. I can then handover control of the auth server, But I will still be around to help you run it. So who wants to take over the project?

This was a PM that Jonny sent out to me and BlueBlaster. Personally, I've lost a lot of interest in AA and don't want to put any more time into it. But, at the same time, I don't want to see it die. I've got a lot of stuff going on with business and life right now, I know Jared, Killa and Blue are also pretty busy as well.

As far as I understand, this would be updating Assist for maps, content or security updates as well as managing payment for the datacenter rack slot.

I would ideally like to see someone who wants to move this project forward and actively develop it further, But anyone who wants to just maintain it and keep it running is good. If no one comes forward the project will eventually close down.

Even if someone wanted to take it over, I don't think anyone here possesses the knowledge to update and fix problems with Assist itself. This is a tricky situation.

If none comes up i rather maintain it and try to keep it running than letting it die now after all the hard work done by you guys.

I think 1 mAAp update and 1 security update could be done and then the project itself could just idle for a very long time without updates.

once had devs who also lost interest in this game, worked out great.

I beg to differ. It's the players that decide upon the game's fate. Today's donations amount will help running the structure for a few months more, then it will just be about the number of players making it worthy to theirselves or not.

all I have to offer is help with honor claims, bans / appeals, questons about the game and how it works and maybe some UScript modding.

I'm online here whenever I can

Even donations don't have to be a problem. I have access to hosted servers with good connectivity in Europe (where most AA2.5 live servers are), and the master server could be deployed there at no cost.
