Hey,
Today after updating AA2.5 I have login my Tracker account in AA25 Assist and everything looks fine there. However, when I joined I was banned (1 hour) by pb because of the following error:

Any idea?
I dunno if has anything to do with this, but my aa account is different from my tracker's account and when I login in the server it appears my tracker's nick, in spite of my aa nick.
BTW, how can I change my AA nick nowadays?

I don't know why this is happening, Assist should stop you from joining the server, Does it not stop you when you hit deploy?
Anyway log-in to your battletracker account and click 'my profile' then 'tracker settings' and put a name in 'aa2 player name'

No, as I said, it all works fine until I join the server and I'm banned
I want to change my aa nick in america's army, but I can't find the account manager in americasarmy.com.

Yeah im getting this same issue.
Well it seems if you close out Assist after you launch the game and before you go in the server you get kicked.

Don't quit assist until you get in the server.

??? O_o why would you have (or need) to do such a thing? Aside of the fact that it's the Assist that allows you being authorized authorised ::)

I have the same problem, getting kicked as soon as I log into a server. We got our clantag protected so I guess that is why I can't log in on the servers.
Before we needed to make a regname.dat file in the PB folder.
Is there a way to do it with this version?

just update so that if the game has been launched/is running they cant kill the exe.

Look in your Application Data/25Assist/armyops/System/pb and put it in there.

I was able to fix my problem:
All you have to do is to have the same nick in your tracker's account and in your america's army's account

Hi Guys,
Logged on yesterday and was kicked and perm banned from a server for unauthorized login. 15 minutes later it let me back in. All was fine until today when the same thing happened. A message comes up telling me my username has been banned on the server. I seem to be able to join all other servers ok?!
Battletracker and AA playername are the same and I haven't changed anything.
Any ideas?

so dont play on that server anymore. they probably messed up some settings, some people like to mess with things they don't understand, for example mistyic d'elite have done something on their server which has resulted in mac and linux people not being able to play there for one example.

yep... Or they simply banned you from that server for a specific reason.

OK it's just a bit weird is all. None of the admins I have spoken to banned me it was a PB thing. Checked the PB logs and Unauthorised login Kick. Yet it let me play for a few hours yesterday morning, but come the afternoon.....boom....kicked again.

possibly your IP address keeps changing?
log out from assist then log back in again before you play, is a workaround.
or see if you need to fix your internet connection.

I will update the master server to log you out if your IP changes, at least then you will know and won't get a ban. you will just need to login again.

Yeah, I have 2 connections, so 2 diff IP, but I have tried to log out log in etc but still no dice.....oh well thanks for the help anyway.

Most Australian's have dynamic IP's but your IP address only changes if you reset your modem or after the lease expires which is usually many days. 99% sure this isn't the problem. Between logigng into Assist and joining the server your IP isnt going to change.
I was there when clair got banned. Seam's like an assist log in dropping out the sever then see's you as unauthorised and ban's. Not sure if that makes sense as a scenario. I got the admin to restart pb only and Clair got back in after that, not sure if that cleared the problem or something else did.
Could be a port or firewall??
I have experienced a few game crashes lately when on this server never had them before, but also havent played other servers lately so not sure if its related or not. When you try to get back in you get the message you are already logged into the server.

Are you logged in on both at once or within a period of time of each other when this happened?

Sounds like you crashed, when that happens your player does not get removed from the server and is left orphaned, you have to wait until the server realises this and kicks your player for something like no packet flow or ignoring querys.

I think I said that - it must be late over there.. That was describing what I have noticed.

I was on one connection and it wasn't playable so I left server, changed connection, restarted assist andcame on in....banned as you saw. I tried 2 different playernames today on FDG server but I'm banned by IP as well it seems.
I can get in on my crappy wireless connection under another name but not on my main cable connection now..sux

Ok in the next version if Assist i will add more protection against this sort of thing happening.
BTW, those bans only last 24hours.

Can you change your IP by reseting your modem?
not sure if you can get an admin to restart pb if that fixes it. console command "admin pb_sv_restart"
Im not sure if the bans only ban by IP, I would have to look.. Johnny would know..

Do it the old style:
- open a prompt window;
- type "ipconfig /release" and press enter;
- switch off the modem, wait some time, then switch it back on;
- type "ipconfig /renew and press enter.

I remember back in the day when we were noobs we thought this was such a 1337 way around a server ban but had no idea how it worked or what it did :D

lol this does nothing to WAN addresses.

This may change it but she is on Cable and doesn't always work, allot are Static. This is why I asked Clair if resetting her modem changes her IP.
The NextG connection will be dynamic and change, havent seen a static.

It was a IP ban only I beleive.
Not that I've had too but I know a couple things I've picked up:
-MAC ban's are totally useless, work around takes about 30 seconds.
-IP Ban is only effective on a static ip but still a couple work around, dynamic ip work around 5 minutes which is nearly everyone.
-AAO tracker or GUID BAN only real work around is another account.
-Hardware BAN work around new computer.

albiet, summoning the dark brotherhood to deal with hackers is a permanent fix.

i just dnld aao 25 and join the game by my old battletracker account, but when i deployed at most crowded server i got IP perm banned for "username" that is already banned or something like that.
i think its problem on aao client, where there was blank "log in" info.
question is:
is there something to get un[perm]banned from this server?
im not violating rules/hacking etc that was just first log in accidentally thing

other servers are running, but there is this only one most played on sf hospital, and i want to join it sometimes

i re-install maps and i dont have so much problems but sometimes all 25assist crash.
