Title: Custom Maps
Post by: 82nd_DXO_COL=Shad on Monday, March 12, 2012, 05:39:27 AM
Will 2.5 compatible custom maps be able to be run in a server?  Or do they have to be distributed with Assist?

Wait, what? Don't they already do that?

The custom maps are a requirement to download when you use Assist. If you've played AA through Assist then you already have them.

No, I'm talking about maps that were made a long time ago by some mappers in our clan - not the 25assist custom maps.  So if we distributed them among the clan we could play them without any 'alien file' problems in 25assist?

I have various extra maps in my Maps folder and I haven't been flagged by Assist. Might as well give it a try.

worst comes to worst someone here checks the files and you get unbanned, but i dunno if it's possible to run the maps online

what me and nate use to do back in the day was,

First make sure hackhunter is turned off and you might need auth off too but not for sure, so I would pass lock the server.

Install the map on the server, and give everyone access so that map, as long as the map on the server matches the map on the client should be fine. If the map is from 2.8.x then i think you will have issues.

It will work but you will have to disable PB or modify the whitelists. I would be very curious to see what maps you have though. Me and Blue collected everything we could, that's what the mAAp Pack is...
