Title: Can't register server on Battletracker.com
Post by: kMx on Sunday, November 24, 2013, 13:44:09 PM
Hello,
so im running a server on a windows vps , players can connect , no problem.
When it comes to register the server at battletracker.com it returns this message :

Gameserver offline or not responding on this IP:Port ...

I have added this ports to the firewall  in the inbound and outbound rules :

Incoming UDP Ports:
1716, 1717

Outgoing UDP Ports:
20046, 20047, 27900

Also all ports are forwarded

Anyone know what can be the cause of this ?

I got the image of the FW rules.

Rules looks ok, AAO2 and AAO3 could be joined to this
UDP
20046-20047,27900

But should not be the source of your problem.
When you mentioned VPS, I got an image of Linux in my head.

If it was my server, I would turn the firewall off temporary to verify that the FW was actually the problem.

ok i will do in a bit , meanwhile i just noticed i can not access battletracker.com from the vps , so this is probably the cause? it is blocking traffic ftom and to battletracker

edit:disabling firewall did not work

Then there must be something in between the host and BT.
another FW or proxy?

If you ping battletracker.com, what is the result?
I get response from 87.230.61.216, not sure if that's the IP used to the GameSpy queries to your server.

Might be an issue on their side, might have your Server blocked for some reason.

if you are running a network with the MASK of 255.255.255.0 then having an IP ending would be bad.
But since a network can be subnetted into larger chunks, 0 could be perfectly fine if it in the middle of the range.

But BT might be coded in such a way that an IP ending with .0 is treated in a special way.

i do have an other meaning about ip ending with a zero.
this is really not good, even a 1 should only be used for a router.
try to change it into something greater then 0 or 1 and try again.

I tested joining the server last night without any issues at all, even if the server had an IP ending with 0 :)
Might be hard for them to get the hoster to change their IP, but it might be worth a shot to get BT tracking working.
