Title: Assist Requests
Post by: Spanky on Wednesday, February 01, 2012, 22:17:50 PM: Here's a few of my ideas for Assist, things I've been thinking about for a bit.

- Merge the mAAp & Border and Dustk packs. One less thing on the main SITREP page.
- mAAp INFO button to point here: http://aao25.com/maap/maap-info/
- Remove the Bt button and all the blue account text, add Create Account button next to Log In/Log Out
- Add a "Fix DirectX" button similar to "Fix PB", point it here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35
- Spankyville training button, remove advanced marksmanship (I can create replacement maps later on)
- Remove "wrong honor" text and replace with a button in the account box that takes them straight here: http://aao25.com/honor-claims/honor-claims-read-before-posting/
- Automatically run client version of AA in a "above normal" process, much like the server.
- On the server, check once a day or so if a new version of Assist was released. If so, kill the server and update. This will help keep mAAp updated as well so people that don't maintain their servers can still run new versions.

That's the server owner's choice. You may not like it but a lot of people do which is why Assist has it.

Post by: Spanky on Thursday, February 02, 2012, 22:36:18 PM: I looked and it seems like the code would need to have a rewrite because it just takes all damage and puts it into a message. You can, though, set death messages only so injuries and damage isn't listed, only kills. Maybe if you ask nice, Jonny will put an option into the Assist server settings.
