Title: Assist 2.2 Released
Post by: Jonnym on Saturday, January 07, 2012, 09:06:07 AM
2.5Assist v2.2 is now complete, With new Auth system, Honor and Tracking (when homey switches it on)

The auth system and honor level is based on your Battletracker account, If your tracker account has recorded an honor of 15 becuase you were playing tracked when the system was down you may have lost your honor, But you can try and claim it back by posting on this forum in Honor Claims.

Download at AA25.org (http://AA25.org)

Talk to spanky about that.

I say talk to Crusade :) I don't have the source nor do I know how to compile/edit code.

Back on topic, this whole thing went really fast, Jonny obviously put in a lot of hours coding this beast. Great job :)

I must say jonny. Excellent work. I really didn't think it would work until I actually tried logging in myself. Everything worked for me from the start. I'm amazed.

I think you guys deserve a golden medal for this or at least a award,..
Guys Thanks for this simple and beautifull program, it works like a charm!

Just installed my server with the new auth system and it works perfectly.
Server is tracked and we will see if the honor system will work too.

@ Jonny
I will make some advertising for your wonderfull program in my server and on my website. Lets hope we get the old AAO2 players to work with this program!

No player admins!  please.
Using player admins opens a gaping hole in your servers security defences.

what about some sort of rcon client built into assist so you dont need to log out and in to, change maps say?

You know, I remember Crusade built a map voter where if say 6 people typed "mutate bridge" it would move the server to bridge. I'm sure something could be done where if a username is in a list on the Assist server, they can mutate to any map. Good idea :)

it would have to authenticate via guid though instead of username as otherwise the same risks as player admin would arise
