lol. You're an idiot. We have several former competitive players here. One of our admins was a 2.8.5 competitive player.

Whats wrong with sharing my settings for a better gameplay to other players ? Pubbing or matches, its just
giving you more advantage !

Why so serious? It's just a game. I lol at "competitive" gamers and their need to make up for a lack of skill with tweaks.
-
if you are a competition player, you gonna need good settings, just by making it equal because almost evry match player got a soundcard like this.
If you have just onboard sound with 32 channels instead of an xfi sound card with 128 channels its hard to beat them on maps like pipeline and mout mckenna. On maps like this sound is the basic for a decent gameplay. It has nothing to do with skill, because its hard to attack if you are on attacking side and you have no clue were the enemy is, atleast the direction.
To be honest, i think lots of players are shit without sound because it just helps them alot about knowing were you enemy is.

Good post. Don't blame the players, blame the game. AA's sounds and gameplay are the only reasons these tweaks are possible to gain an advantage. If you're a competitive player you have no choice but to use sound tweaks with a sound card if you want to have a chance, that's just the way it is. It shouldn't be that way, but it is.

Just popping in to say that channels in AA do not offer you the competitive advantage you may think it does. 32 is all you need.
-
I'll agree. AA is quite unique in that fashion I think, especially when compared to modern games. It's also old enough to take partial advantage of X-Fi although I would bet that there isn't a huge difference, especially after seeing most of the maps zones not having any kind of EAX effect applied. I would imagine there's times where quite a few sounds are played at once so it probably helps there.
-
Competitively speaking I think you definitely need a great soundcard to be a good player however a great soundcard doesn't make you an invite player, there is a lot more things to consider...

I have to agree with you, i have on-board sound with 32 channels and, it's not amazing, but is quite good.

I think it would be fascinating to challenge a gamer's tweaked settings that they likely use with some Logitech headset or speakers versus a dedicated DAC, amp and quality headphones or speakers. I know with the X-Fi you can tweak things to hell and back, throwing quality out the window but I would wonder how that compares to accurately reproduced sound with a quality system, allowing you to hear all the sounds properly pronounced.
-
if you're pubbing you don't need any tweaks for sound , as it makes no difference , since you're playing like what 10 vs 10 , it's all going to get mixed up. However in a match , usually 4v4 , it makes a difference.

Na, you still get those damn sound campers in public servers too.

I split and merged the topics. The forum doesn't let you move individual posts around, so you will have to edit your video into the first post :)

So, you're saying that a hardware accelerated sound device capable of handling more sounds at once will only make a difference with less people in a server? Hmmm, here I thought that more people in a server would mean more sounds like footsteps, gunfire and reloads. Guess not.

I played the game once for fun on my big ugly speakers. Never again, it scares the hell out of me every time I hear a gun shot. The position of sounds was pretty good though. Although unreal does sound positioning in a wonky way sometimes. Also no doppler effect so you have to rely on if the sound gets louder or quieter which is not cool.
-
you don't need full 128 even with xfi, i always use 64.
There really isn't a fix all solution to sound with aa, but if you want to start -- i would suggest getting a good headset, from there on out its all personal preference.

well ofcourse lol , but more footsteps , gunfire , reloads would only just make you confused... i dont know i never pubbed with x-fi tweaks , just a logical conclusion

with good settings it wont, you will be able to tell where each player is.
-
this eq or who ever this eq belong to its a fail
cause bass is on
turn complete the bass off and turn off also bass in your settings and in eq for have outstanding sound
eq = 90% sound or maybe more
the other things are randoms
-
Bass is the most useless sound option in this game.
No Sly, other things aren't random. You can have the best EQ ever, but if you miss the high and low frequences in Windows mixer, or in Entertainment Mode (X-Fi), the sound will be fail.
Every one option in sound settings is very imporant.
-
hm i think yes or at least i tried that things with my soundcards
but u also right as much good things u have and your soundcards support that much sound u have
its like a radar tidi :-)
we both know it

Actually my sound is by far not that good. I only hear things close by accurately. If it is a bit further away I don't hear it, unless they are shooting of course ;).

I just switched to 128 and it has really improved my sk!LLz !
I now can hear my wife shouting out of the kitchen (which is at the other end of the flat)
saying that the chicken is ready for dinner :D

I think you picked the wrong tweak m8.
255th_DCO_GEN=AAMods | AutoLoad=(MenuClassName="Live_Jump.crussiesspersonalaaInteraction",bPreInitialize=True)
Well, you still have other games to cheat...

@Serg
I wonder if we can have a thread here where all the banned players are listed?
(Banned by/since AA25-Assist)
Like a "Hall of Shame".
Currently this is only available for staff member, it would nice to have it public.
-
i agree that would be so useful to see how many noobs got caught using a kiddie cheat for free game
:banned: :banned: :banned: :banned: :banned: :banned: :banned:

I will think about it...

+1 :D

I am sorry but i don t agree . summ cheater players grow up and ask to play agan.
The Assist news paper you will not need that the ex cheater has come back,
and public hanging a human person is never good.
We don t need 250 players that can see if sumbuddy was A cheater.
-
How would you link a new account with those that got banned before?
Impossible IMHO.
BTW:
There was a good reason why cardsharpers got tarred and feathered...
