Post by: Anixx on Saturday, July 21, 2012, 13:33:42 PM

Aren't you downloading files so that your connection is already used at maximum capacity?
Could be a firewall/router issue also...

interesting, you can ping the Auth server but not the game servers :/
go on the Settings tab and Select Gamespy as server browser.

I do not use any firewalls. Selecting gamespy does not change anything.

Linux, Mac, and Windows sitrep pages will look a little different from each other.

If you're able to ping the master server, but then you cannot get server information I have no idea what could be wrong. Are you connected using a router? Can you try a quick direct connection to your modem if so?

I have a direct connection via Ethernet cable. There is no modem or router.

how so , that ethernet cable must be connected to something on the other terminal , there must be a modem at least

maybe his internet is shared and the modem isn't in his house.

No. There is no modem. It is Ethernet all the way.

it happend to me before but not in assist but my problem was that i blocked 1617 and 1717 in my firewall when i was trying to make a server but when i deleted them/unblocked and it didnt happen again so maybe this is your problem
but you said you dont use firewall so idk.

I guess some ports are blocked which make you see everything offline, go open some (I have really no idea which) ports IMO

it is linux, right?

i dont know the commands for that but there must be a simular command like in windows, with which you can see all open and listening ports...

open dos box and execute following command:
netstat -na

the result looks like this:
TCP .....
UDP 0.0.0.0:1716  *:*
UDP 0.0.0.0:1717  *:*
UDP 0.0.0.0:1718  *:*

and you see all the ports now...i am pretty sure, that the responsible ports (watch other thread at the very top of forum - ports...) are closed.

and you must have a router - otherwise you could not connect to the internet and to your provider. and there you have to open the port...
