He posted it in shoutbox.

It is pretty amazing :)

I read ELiZ fixed the leaves so they stay on the ground as well ;)

Great job to the both of ya's :D

I think they need adjusting.. looks like the top of the threes is glowing.
I don't think that is was Spanky was after.

It's a work in progress. ELiZ made the leaves falling but I fooled around and got them sticking to the ground in the editor. In-game they didn't work though, I think maybe I forgot to save something but ELiZ fixed all that. I'm not happy with the haze quite yet, I've only made 2 edits on it and it's something you have to save the map and play it in-game to see the effect (and it only works online).

Just wondering, what will the effect be on the fps for people with rather outdated computers. Because I know for some people that's also a reason why they still play AA.

ill go in and test it. my cpu is a lil out dated i get around 30 fps on pipleine and such so this would be a good test. i assume its already pushed to beta?

I test things against my machine. I have a 5 year old GPU and I play at full settings. Generally FPS doesn't drop below 40 for me so people with older computers can just lower settings (like they probably do on other maps). However, the only way to know for sure is to release the maps. If people complain, there are things we can do to fix. The leaf emitters are culled at a certain distance so you won't see them falling across the map, only about 2 tree lengths in front of you. The haze doesn't take much on FPS either, it's about as much as the haze on SF Hospital. The thing that will hurt on AA3 maps is the huge number of meshes which the engine wasn't really meant to handle, especially with it being a single-core. Again, we'll have to see what the users think when the maps get released but I'm optimistic.

intersting. 1600x900 everyhintg on high i get like 15-30 but on 800x600 with everything on low i get like 6. weird how that worked

That does look pretty cool. How exactly did you get the trees to move?

That's the reason why we are only doing AA3. Even though it has no legal legs to stand on, we feel that by only "messing" with "old" versions of AA, we're keeping our noses down and not stealing the spotlight so to speak. Still, any way you slice it, we're using, modifying and re-distributing copyrighted content, even though the original authors credits are still intact.

And what do you know about those maps? Please tell me in what way they are unbalanced? The fact that noone is smart enough to use smokes is the only thing what makes it unbalanced.

Also in AA2 you got different weapons, and usually different objective styles as well.

In AAPG it was not unbalanced in competition for sure, and I have played a league on it already and got some experience on it. So I have some experience on the maps to know what I'm talking about.

With this logic, the devs shouldn't have moved on from v1.0. Windows should still look like this:

We've already advertised on other websites as well. It's a pity you seemingly don't read other posts, you'd realize that there's more than just AA3 maps going on. You should get it through your thick head that updates are good and more often beneficial than not. Never touch a running system? We'll just leave the bugs and slow Assist then? Idiotic.

Brussels should be head of a high-tech company, that would work out well. Stick with what you are succesful with now, and 2 guys in a garage will take it over sooner or later

You mean advertising like this http://bmxbrussels.de/aao2/index.php (http://bmxbrussels.de/aao2/index.php) ?

This site exists since few years and it still doesn't work ^^ No offence, it's a good initiative, just funny how you you give advice on things you're not very good at
