when i try to download AA it locks up and stops working. I tryied redownloading the client, but same problem. is there somthing else i can do to fix this?

look into "bug reports", there are a lot of such problems.
give a printscreen if possible, where and how it stops - and maybe the error message.

no error message i dont have the game so it says download or find i hit download and yes and it locks up and stops working

Click on find, then goto settings and click complete re-install. If that does not work it doesn't like your internet connection or router or firewall or security software.
Failing that, Download americas army 2.5 from http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/AmericasArmy/Windows_v2.5.0/AmericasArmy250_Download.exe
Install that, and then let assist copy it using the find function.

ok i got a working copy but tried the find thing said it was currect and wanted to copy hit yes and locked up again the same way it did with trying to download it.

Have you tried right clicking 25assist.exe and choosing run as administrator.
Otherwise I'm all out of ideas.. Tried using a different computer? or a different user on the computer?

yep tried it same thing happen. using difrent user would give me the same thing as well. annoying lol

a long shot here... Try creating a folder called '25Assist' next to your 25Assist.exe and 25AssistLibs.
Then when asked tell it to use this folder.

i put the 25AssistLibs. in that "new" folder right?

by the way my 25Assist file version is 2.0 thought it was suposed to be 2.2? could that be the problem

No don't put anything in the new folder, the file version means nothing.
and move it all somewhere simple like C:\aa\
c:\aa\25Assist.exe
c:\aa\25Assist Libs\
c:\aa\25Assist\

nope started doing something looked like updating then locked up this thing really hates me lol

it runs other games very well i play a mmofps called Combat arms and i run that easy with little lag. i dont see y i can't run this.

maybe i can copy the AA file to where ever the Assist would have put it when it copies it.

Are there any other libraries needed by assist other than ones you included jonny? Any redistributables or something? Not sure what to say if his program decides to 'lock up' when downloading the files.

Attach a debugger? at least then you will get a stack trace.

create a folder called armyops in your 25Assist folder, then manually copy all the folders from your manual aa installation (animations thru to system) into the armyops folder inside 25Assist. Then you have manually installed, see what it says then.

ok Jonny that seemed to work, but now it starts installing the PunkBuster Client gets to about 233KBs downloaded and stops working. Below the loading bar it says "Decompressing, Please Wait..." i even left it alon for about 2 hours and did not move a bit. any other way i can get this PunkBuster client?

alright i have gotten it to work. so far seems i can start playing. a big thanks to everyone that helped me get it going.

All those download problems could be caused by firewall settings - you should allow all connections related to punkbuster / 25assist in your network settings. This is the first thing that comes to my mind. Anyways, good that you got everything running.

i turned my firewall and all other protection programs off still had the same problem

ok last thing it wont let me join i hit "join game" and a box pops up and starts verifying thing its hard to see it goes fast and then nothing happens. is there something i'm not doing?

personally i would uninstall everything related to AA or Assist. Try it again.

Silly question but do you have 7za.exe in your 25assist folder?

yes i do i tried opening it but closes as soon as it opens up.
