I thought I posted this before but I guess I didn't. This is a link for the Impersonator Studio. It lets you make custom facial animation for talking characters in unreal based games. All you gotta do is load a sound file and it'll do the work for you.

You posted a video about it but I don't think you shared the download. For some reason I can't access mediafire right now. I may have fun with this :)
-
Yea I think the date I uploaded this was the same day I made the video and I forgot to make a thread to download this here. At least thats what I think.
Making it work with AA takes a bit of tweaking, just check the help files for the program, theres a lot of information; its really cool.
I'm thinking I should make a tutorial on using this because once some "outside" people discover this, there's going to be a lot of confusion. I think everyone should try this out since it's real fun stuff.
TIP : Even if you have a crappy mic, it's better to record your own voice to make facial animations if your trying to make animations from music or songs. Otherwise the program will try to create animations for other sounds and instruments. Imagine how that would look :P
-
Tomorrows project for me. Never gonna give you up.
-
I knew that was going to happen which is why I made that tip in the last post :)
I'm looking out for ya Knight haha.
-
HAHAHAHA BEATBOX ANIMATIONS! I swear, maybe this is how I'll do my next YouTube video.
-
AA Machinima project anyone?
-
I would say FUCK YES!!!!!
Battlefield Bad Company style:

Something like "Classified Footage". Maybe the characters like George (we can name the other ones like black guy = Tyrone or something) talk about the AA devs late at night or something.
BTW, thanks for the Rapidshare link :P

LMFAO TYRONE!
d00d. We have to pick the charcter models and give them unique names and personalities. I would love to make a "copy" of the bad company stuff lol.
Or maybe, what is defense on pipeline doing before assault reaches the base. Endless possibilities.
This might be really useful

This is also kind of cool and recently got out of the licensee hands :)

Exactly. Let's get a list of things we can do and then see what options would yield the most lulz.
-
Dont forget to check out my edits lawl
-
The pipeline defense team, bored while waiting for the assaulting team to assault, decide to make a music video.
-
I'm checking those videos out Skrewy, as well as uploading my first :P
*EDIT*
Straight up, we can make something better than that guy. Easily.

Hey thats really good. Better than my lipsyncing test. I see you recorded in fraps, I used VirtualDub to record my video lol.
I'd also like to figure out how to do eye tracking. If we ever make a short movie, eye tracking is probably needed for some parts.
-
Thanks :) I tried setting the Impersonator resolution to 640x480 but for some reason FRAPS still records 1680x1050 no matter the window size so I just tried stretching the window as large as I could in my monitor frame and then FRAPS'd it.
Eye tracking and recording should be wayyyy easy inside a map :)
-
I dont know how to do eye tracking?
-
There's an option in the NPC characters for it and it just follows you. I think I'm going to try it with my P.O.V. video.
-
Ok yes please try that. Because I never knew eye tracking was possible until I read it in the impersonator manual. If the option is that easy we can just make a null object that moves around in cinematics because I wouldnt know where the game tries to eye track if the object is as big as them.
-
I think the eyes track to the pawn (you, the player). I enabled it once with a NPC and it was kinda creepy. I'll have to try it again.

So is this going to be one of those typical gangster music videos where a rapper is walking down the street rapping at a low camera angle and he's got groupies following him?
Would be easy to do lmao.
I wouldnt know how to do the gangster rap hand movements though. I never tried skeletal animation =\
-
Well something like that, walking around various maps with clips of action that match the sound effects.
-
Ok then! :D
-
I dunno if I can rap that fast though. I had a mildy hard time with the Portal song doing it all in one stretch without mistakes and breathing properly =\
-
If someone makes the rap me and skrewy are gangster so we will do it :)

Whoever does it, it has to be clear voice, no background noise or slurring.
-
I used Sony Vegas to record when I did mine. I recorded it all in a couple takes and combined whatever sounded the best.
Even if it all doesnt end up great I figured out how to edit the lipsinc files in impersonator, so I can fix some weird mouth motions.

Windows Sound Recorder + shitty headset ftw.
-
Audacity is free.

I really hate using new things and get frustrated easily.
