This is a pretty awesome program I came across. You can tell what hard drives to sleep and they don't wake up until you tell them. To me, this is a lot better than the sleep function built in the OS because sometimes the hard drive spins up when it doesn't need to. This completely takes the HD offline and you could even swap drivers for the drive in doing so. Works on SATA and IDE drives perfectly without restarting.

Looks useful. Maybe I'll need it when I get another external :)

Or when I find time to jack the hard drive from my DVR ;)
