I've been using this program a while and it's fantastic. It basically syncs playback with refresh rate so you don't get stuttering and drop-outs. It also has an option for WASAPI output (which bypasses the Windows Mixer for audio). The only thing is that if you play videos that are 24FPS, you need to have a 48hz or 96hz refresh rate which isn't too common. It will still play but it won't be 100% optimal. It works great for 30fps videos on 60hz monitors. I get perfectly sync'd audio and stutter-free playback now :)

Oh come on guys, this is really cool. I know theres a few people that play videos on their PC. It's even great for Bluray and DVD.
-
I'm not a big movie or TV person. My PC is rarely used to watch videos.
-
Killaman, you're fast and disappointing.

That's what she said!.....not to me though. :D
-
I don't watch PAL videos lol. As for 24fps films, I'm alright with 3:2 pulldown even though I have my monitor set to 75hz.
While the program is cool, I haven't been watching a lot of videos lately to put it to any use at all.

Killaman... lol
It can smooth up most all videos, it's just most efficient when you're playing a video that has a FPS that can be divided into your monitors refresh rate evenly.

Never had a problem? Must be lucky. VLC sucks. It's an ok solution for those that want an easy solution but there's better choices.
I think this post fell upon blind eyes.
-
Or maybe people who don't care lol. Last time I played a video was probably 4 months ago. It was Avatar :)
-
People should care though. WASAPI = better audio and this program syncs things to your monitor instead of using a highly inaccurate system clock.
-
I'm still not 100% sure on what it does to be honest.
-
It essentially corrects audio playback to be as close to perfectly synced to the video as possible. Here's a screenshot during playback, it shows corrections being made:

I have Windows XP. I do not have WASAPI, I have DirectSound and Asio4All :)
-
Well it also works with DirectSound and it might also work with Kernel Streaming but I'm not sure.
*EDIT*
Everybody that's played a video on their computer should download and try ReClock. It is seriously the best thing I've seen for video playback on computers. Just don't try to use it with VLC, that player is for noobs. Sorry mans.

Ill check it out on MPC.

lol :) In order of preference:
Windows Media Player
Media Player Classic - Home Cinema
Ones I've never used but others recommend:
