Oddly enough it's something I have no experience with. I've done Flash, Javascript, PHP and HTML. Never touched Java. I hear it's a real mindfuck.

yeah i'm looking forward to it. especially the fact that our teacher doesn't let us use our computers in lectures.... so we're supposed to write all this code and shit she has on her pc in our notebooks. does that make any sense at all?

o.O That's almost worth changing classes or talking to someone higher-up about her teaching practice.

i mean we have discussion classes the same day like 2 hours later with smaller groups when we use computers, we're just not allowed to have them out in the lectures. it just seems odd to me.

I would hate that. Coding is about creativity and ideas. You can't suppress those. When I have an idea or want to try something, I want to be able to load up a program and just GO.

That is why I don't take programming classes. The best teacher is yourself.

Although I am getting ravaged in differential equations, but that's a different story...

that's the way you learn - you interact with it. when you're learning math you don't just learn a bunch of abstract theory then know everything. you do examples and solve equations yourself.

Don't be so hatin brah ,you will need to work with it to understand but ye : cross platform ,simple oop, etc etc  , well its my point of view ppl will consider other languages to be better

No, I didn't mean that some particular other language is better or best.

What I mean, that the sentence "language X is best/most powerfull" is completely non-sense.

There is a zoo of languages, and some are definitely "better" than others, but mostly, they just fail in different categories, so comparing them in "worse/better/best" way makes no sense.
