2 x 1TB drives = never have to uninstall anything

I bet defragging is a b*tch :)

Yea, that would suck for a OS drive. I don't HAVE to uninstall it but if I'm not going to use it, it's just taking up space and makes other files slower. Using a partition at the beginning of the drive, say 250GB or so for the OS and programs and then a partition for the rest of the files is best for speed.

haha and no assist allowed, so racing lines off, damage on full and all driver assists off :D
on a nice windy, wet track
i can see a nice car smash!!!

I have another 160GB drive that serves as my os drive.
So you install programs on 2 1TB drives? Last time I did that, I had a bunch of problems with applications thinking they were on C: and really not. I haven't tried that since.

To each their own. I prefer to keep things simple but that's just me.

Why anyone would need 2TB to store applications on is beyond me. I am fine with my 500GB HDD storing everything.

While I agree, he did say that it's split up and not all of it is for applications. I have a 210GB partition for OS and applications and right now only have 23.2GB free on it. I keep it really clean and defragmented frequently. I could use more space but with 2x500GB hard drives and a 255GB partition for temporary and junk files (Dropbox, Dreamweaver, Virtual Machines, Fraps, etc..) there's not much space. I desperately need to upgrade as these hard drives are a couple years old, cycled every day and were originally purchased used on eBay. I can't help but think they're gonna die soon.
Anyway, outside of that, on my server I have 1610GB of disk space spread across 4 hard drives (that's real, not what the labels say) that store my backup, temporary downloads, installation files (game ISO's), home pictures and videos, television and movies, etc.. I could use more but I still have free space so it's not a top priority on the "to buy" list.
I'm going to split this thread.
*EDIT*
Funny that I mention the above bold sentence. While typing this whole thing I was fighting system freezing every 30 seconds or so. The display driver crashed twice (gotta love Windows 7 for recovering it). Then a BSOD came. Hopefully this isn't a hint at what's coming...
