Title: Disk Genius
Post by: Spanky on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, 22:52:32 PM
I just spent time trying to figure out how to access data on a hard drive that Windows wanted formatted before using. I'm thinking that the partition got deleted, the data was still there but the structure or whatever was messed up. With Disk Genius, I was able to see ALL the files and copy them to another hard drive. It's a great program, one of the many on the Hiren Boot CD. I highly recommend it.

This would have come in handy when Windows 7 just randomly decided that my external hard drive needed to be reformatted before using.

Yea, I didn't honestly have much hope for the drive in the beginning. When Windows says you must format in order to use the drive, you don't exactly think happy thoughts. I tried Hirens boot CD and ran through almost every hard disk and recovery program in it. This was one of the last ones I tried and it did work great. Happy customer :)
