I noticed Avguste thread, and thinking about cooperative games (fps) i was wondering...does anyone here play some? I mean, i loved to play AA2 for the cooperative missions, but there aren't many good coop fps around, and pretty much nothing close enough to AA2 for that kind of gameplay. Sometimes i play Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead 2 (i also got Natural Selection 2 but never fired it up >_> ).
So, does anyone play something like those? :)
-
i only play the best game ever and - proving ground. no more time for others :)
-
I played a fair amount of Left 4 Dead 2. Never tried to setup a match or anything though, always used quick join.
-
No. In FPS I am about PVP. The only reason I would do coop is for training purposes.

PVP gets annoying sometimes, especially when you're new to a game or you're trying to play a game where there's 'regular' players that invest a whole ton of time in the game and are by far better than you could be *cough*AA*cough*.

Well for that matter there are worse games than AA. I've happened to get kicked several times in Left4Dead2 while playing Versus, a few seconds after joining because some people didn't like what i was doing.

Yea, it's a problem with a lot of games, some are worse than others.

Player vs AI? Very often ... with my own AI. I do not say, others AI are not good enough, but I do this for testing purpose. Sometimes they cooperate - sometimes not, but funny things happen, when you trying to implement human behavior.

Maybe that's because human behavior is funny :)

I prefer L4D2 over KF, but I've got KF at this PC, downloading L4D will take ages.

L4D is probably easier for casual players, while KF is based on perks level and requires some time to actually learn how to play, and eventually level up and gain the level advantages (but it's a good system for a cooperative game). They're quite totally different games as KF is (mostly) wave-based and is a lot harder at the higher levels (at the Suicidial and Hell-on-Earth levels), while L4D is objective-based.

Halo.
The first Halo!? God that was a masterpiece. I loved that game, it had such a good atmosphere.

Indeed it did. Halo was one of the first games I really enjoyed to play and was the longest game I ever played, Halo CE was epic too.

I played Halo a few times, never understood the point to be honest.

i did have a look at insurgery now, and yes - to be honest - it looks nice. but you need a hard core computer to play that smooth.

Hmm i don't think so. It's based on a mod for Half Life 2, so i guess you don't need that much of a powerful pc to run it. I've just checked the requirements and i think the hardware suggested in the minimum ones is fine, the recommended requirements are even exaggerated (Insurgency doesn't need 2gb of video-memory, let alone an ssd).
MINIMUM
Memory:4 GB RAM
Graphics:DirectX 9 and Pixel Shader 3.0-compatible video card 512 MB or higher
Hard Drive:9 GB HD space
Processor:Intel? Core? 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom? X3 8750 processor or better
OS:Windows? 8/7/Vista/XP
DirectX?:9.0c
RECOMMENDED
Memory:8 GB RAM
Graphics:Video card 2048 MB or higher
Hard Drive:9 GB SSD space
