http://www.conceivablytech.com/2463/products/google-confirms-chrome-7-gpu-acceleration/
I don't know if I see any difference but it might have been enabled already since that article is a little old and I use a newer build.
-
did you test it out on a browser based game?
-
No, I don't know of any browser based games that aren't Flash and Flash has been GPU accelerated for a while now.
-
I've had a tab open sitting at Please Wait, Loading for probably a half hour. What's the point?
-
I dunno. I think mostly at this point the GPU acceleration is done to image handling and basic things since it's not fully implemented, I believe it says what's what in the article.

www.funorb.com - Java Based Games.
Its made by Jagex, the very makers of Runescape, but it doesn't have the same Hardware acceleration as Runescape does.

Runescape.... Runescape.... i remember this game....

Try it out here: http://www.chromeexperiments.com/

Good idea Delta. I just did and got some interesting results. With GPU acceleration, it crashed frequently (I guess that's why it's still beta :P) but when it did work, I noticed GPU usage up to 15% and CPU spikes around 55% total usage. I disabled the switch and noticed no more than 5% GPU usage and a CPU spike upwards of 80%+. It obviously does something. I'll keep it enabled for now and be optimistic for future updates :)

Was that Arcade Fire video ever posted here? I don't remember if I was linked to it from a thread here or an article on Ultimate-Guitar.
-
Ive linked an Arcade fire video through here. Let me find it and I will be back.

last post of that page. Is that what you where looking for?

Nah, I meant the Chrome Experiment where you put your address in and it shows him dancing in front of your house on streetview. It didn't really work with my address but was pretty cool nonetheless. Must have been posted on UG.

ROFL KNIGHT!!!!!!
I don't think anyone posted it, Vikraal sent me there so I kinda didn't think about posting it here.

I'm so freaking lost.

Chrome Experiments are spiffy little projects created to demonstrate HTML5 and other features. Chrome already supports HTML5 even though it's not a standard yet. Since the experiments are heavy on resources, I thought I would see if there was a difference in usage when having GPU acceleration enabled.
