Battlefield 3 (PC)
« on: Thursday, December 15, 2011, 13:41:49 PM »
First of all i would like to say that i got an ilegal copy at first just to try out the game and them after finishisn the gam in 7 hours divided in 3 days.

My computer spects at the time were:

Processor: Intel core 2 duo @3.0Ghz
RAM: 2x2GB crsossair @667Mhz
Video: EVGA GTS 450 1GB DDR5

I played this game with all settings set to ULTRA with no lag at all.

this is what you need to run the game in minimum settings.

OS: Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) 32-Bit
Processor: 2 GHz Dual Core (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ or Althon X2 2.7 GHz)
Memory: 2 GB
Hard Drive: 20 GB
Graphics Card (AMD): DirectX 10.1 compatible with 512 MB RAM (ATI RADEON 3000, 4000, 5000 OR 6000 series, with ATI RADEON 3870 or higher performance)
Graphics Card (NVIDIA): DirectX 10.0 compatible with 512 MB RAM (NVIDIA GEFORCE 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 OR 500 series with NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GT or higher performance)

Ok now lets get on to bussines:

Story line: As this is my first battlefiel game i have ever played i kinda like the way the presented this game you can really get into the character your are playing see your friends die one by one finishing it on am epic Figth!

Gameplay: I really liked this game alot, it is not like any other FPS that when you play it you feel your character is all stiff and with alot of restriction on flexibility, jumping and such.

Enviromet, ligthning: I really have to say that on a graphic scale this is by far the best game i have ever played in alot of time, you can interact with almost all the objects on the map, tear down a building by shotting it with your Abrahams Tank or blowing up a building with an AT4. when it comes to shadow and ligthning as i said above i can't complain its great... what did bug me a bit was the head ligth of weapons and cars that made almost imposible for you to shot, but once you get rid of them (if you shot them uo they go off) everything is good.

Odd stuff: i did find odd that sometimes you have to shot a guy more than once for him to die even if you hit them close to the chest or neck, does anyone else have this same way of thinking

Online Capabilities: after all of this above i said to myself i had to get the game so i bougth it tru origin start the download and after 3 days of download and patches and releases the game was fully updated and ready to play.

I have to say that this got me even more excited when i saw that i was still on ultra setting with no lag and all the tearing, firing shotting was even better, is a bit hard to catch up at the beggining but once you play like 3 or 4 hours you start to get the hang of it

well that is all i have to say about that fi you have anything to add be my guess

I don't have BF3. I would have bought it but I don't feel like playing it on low settings.

One reason I don't have it yet.

Dump that Super Talent 1333MHz and get a 2x4GB kit of 1600MHz and tweak it!

You wouldn't be playing it on low though. You'd actually be playing on high or almost maxed out. Hardly the same thing as low. :P

I can't play BC2 near full settings. I heard others with my GPU couldn't get above 30. Doesn't sound like a good time to me. I also fail the recommended requirements due to my GPU.

How much do these run you over there?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

I'm not against buying them for you and shipping them if it's cheaper...

*EDIT*
By the way Killaman, I pretty much bought your computer for $98 (if you still have that dual-core...) I got an AM3 setup with 2GB of DDR3 and a 6-core supporting motherboard for that :P

Yes, I still have that dual core. :P I have 4gb of ram though. There is a small chance that I will be upgrading my PC after Christmas though. We'll see how much I end up spending on presents for everyone.

:) My point is though, that you can search for used parts. For $98, my server will be easily upgradeable, 1 part at a time. The whole house is on AM3 now so 1 upgrade means 3 computers can get upgraded :)
