Hi,
Who will doing americas army 2 with new game engine ?
I´ve see in youtube a video sf hospital in cry engine.
I think alone to work is not effecient and good.
If a community helping together with guys they can programming in cry engine and fit in 3ds max, Why not ?
AAO 2 with new engine with ones best Graphic Engine in World, its amazing !
I think if we work togehter we can do it....!
I creating a map mountain pass for test, But alone I cant more.
Post here pls Who have familiar about game design and progaming

Nothing wrong with dreaming.
This is entirely possible...
However, even if you did get everything (functions, assets, maps, etc...) it would still feel like a different game. Engine dynamics play a big role. Slightly different networking code would be enough to drive hardcore dedicated players away. It would be a huge effort and even if it was popular, you'd still have to deal with the fact that you're ripping content from a game without permission. Yes, we do do that here but taking from AA 2.8.5 or AA3 and implementing into 2.5 and keeping the same gameplay, it's kind of a grey area.

I know what u mean..but we can create a little different why not, we must work in hobby time saturday night or friday nigght we can work together with ideas... if many people with really good background stuff helping we can create a game for all. Not battlefield 3 - 4 arcade or cod kiddy game.

im not exactly a programmer. but me and a few friends are developing a new game using Unity's Engine.
but i should check out the engine you mentioned. Looks like i can work with that. :)
