Title: Forum modification: YouTube embedding
Post by: Spanky on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, 03:43:21 AM
Does everyone fully enjoy this mod? I personally find it annoying as all hell. No videos show up in full resolution 720p (either standard or 720p squished) and loading/buffering is a pain in the ass. Is it really that hard to click a link and load it in a new window? I'm seriously thinking about uninstalling the mod. It does a lot more than just the YouTube embedding but the rest IMO is pointless and nobody has shown interest in having it enabled.

I don't like or dislike it. Its nice to see a preview of the video before going to it but other than that meh.

You can go ahead and get rid of it lol. I usually view videos on the youtube site anyway. I can say more, but get rid of it lol. All a forum needs is: image resizing, auto hot links, and not automatically making e-mails a "mailto" link to stop spiders and web crawlers.

It's now uninstalled.

*EDIT*
Also, the database is cleaned up, all "freehostia" crap is now removed. This means that avatars and attachments work (they were broken before as they tried to upload to headshotcommunity.freehostia.com).
