Title: America's Army 2.5 Tournament
Post by: -snap.iog- on Saturday, June 30, 2012, 18:56:25 PM
Hi Gamers,

How many of you guys and gals are interested in playing an America's Army tournament for cash and/or prizes? If so, how many of you are interested in paying an entrance fee per team?

IE. Each team pays $5-10 to enter?

I was talking with one of the developers and we might be able to make small competitive modifications. This would be an NA tournament as of now.

If there is enough support, we can get a website set up, hopefully an anticheat client, and maybe even have some modifications made to certain maps/gameplay.

For now, post if you are interested and tell your friends/teammates to post their feedback as well.

I like the idea but like I've said in other posts there isn't enough NA teams to field a tourney.

if we could bring them back... it would be great, but we all know we need a money prizes to bring players back.

I think this is the step in the right direction

fogs, nexus, n3, and ak4. Considering we all play each other all the time. i dont really know what the selling point is here.

When money and prizes (hardware, etc.) is involved, teams and players will certainly come back. This would not be something just thrown together, this would be something that would be planned out. I am certain a few companies would be interested in sponsoring the tournament. Every players knows at least one other player...so when the word money comes into it, especially if it is a decent amount, there would not be an issue bringing some full teams back to the game.

There are a few questions to keep in mind:

1. Who would be willing to support this?
2. Who would be willing to pay to play?
3. Who would be willing to connect with old teammates/players they know?

If there is enough support shown in this topic, I can see what can happen to start setting up a website, and even start connecting with old sponsors/potential corporate sponsors..

This would be really cool and fun but getting people back to the game is the main thing that needs to happen for something like this to start. As kicker said we do not have enough teams right now to do this. Hell theres usually only 1 maybe 2 na servers with people in them these days. We need to get some of those old players back.

Figuring out an AC client is not that important. I have a few good ideas. The biggest question is if teams are willing to pay for the tournament, or not. The prize pot would be significantly bigger if so.

I think paying is fine - you will get a more serious players. And most of the old players cal-I cevo-p players will come back for money and hardware -- aa LAN?

The only reason why I don't like CDC is it always muffled the sound in game. Idk why it does that makes no sense but it does.

it would be better i think to talk with the programmer of CDC and work on one with pit and integrate our own anti cheat system in assist
Title: Re: America's Army 2.5 Tournament
Post by: Maxbulldog_53 on Sunday, July 01, 2012, 14:55:24 PM
Assist already has pretty strong anti-cheat built in. We already have client side detection so  if you find a way to prevent any more hacks, why not help out and show the devs a way to stop more cheats.

I agree with mans. If you know of better ways to stop hacks work with the devs and just make assists anti cheat even better. It's already pretty damn good so why not just build on it.

btw just because im agreeing with you doesnt mean ur not a bastard mans. ;) :style:

Yeah, there are a few options with solid anti-cheats. Even some of the "best" cheaters in this game were caught in important competitive matches. I have a few ideas to prevent cheating.

Anyway, since a decent amount of you are showing interested, I am going to start looking into some available options.

myself, jonny and possibly mofo would probably play with who ever else we wanted to play with for a league if it got off the ground snapo, would want a anti cheat though.

Not sure if cdc or cmn3 would be available though

I'd really want game changes like faster reloads, less powerful flashes more like the 2.8.x versions being the two big ones.

I'd donate some money for the auth for those two changes

Yea, realism blows. When does Crunk get back so we can have some help setting soldier skins to super tan buff models and instead of guns, they fire bright-colored dildos?

IMO, that will be the day that AA becomes popular. Let's start getting all this realism bullshit out of here, it's not like this is a tactical war simulator or something.
