I've been talking with Brussels via PM and as a peace offering, he's come up with the idea for a 4v4 cup with 50 euro going to the winning team.
So, since I'm not really involved in the community, I was wondering if kicker or Max would like to take the lead on this? You guys seem pretty involved with TNF and organizing players. I'm not sure how this should be done but I'm willing to make a forum board to organize things or whatever is needed.
Let's get something going!

I was actually thinking about you for the job :) I don't think it's necessarily Euro but I think Euro teams could also participate. Unless, we should split it and do 25 EURO to US and EU players... That's what this thread is about, organize things and get ideas flowing.

most euro players can play fine on US servers, theres no reason to bitch about some ms(around 30~40), same for EU to US.

Sorry but that's not true, you can't just mix EU players with NA. Won't be fair for each side.

why? I've seen EU's playing with 35 of ping on US servers, I can play fine with more than 50 lol, brazilian clans have played NA ladder on TWL with pings higher than 35 and they played fine

You do understand the ping rule right? When you see your ping 50 then it is 50, but if you see someone with 50 then he real ping is 50x4=200. You can play with 50 against someone with 200 and pretend it's fair. I have between 160 and 240 real ping on US servers. More than 120 is unplayable...

I never understood any of this voodoo. How can people know if the AA netcode is accurate with ping measurements...

I know that its divided by 4.... America's Army is playable with high ping (around 50/~200)
edit: aren't PRO's pro enough to play with average ping? can't pro's predict they shots? BS IMO.

I like the idea of doing a split tourney for us and eu players and id be willing to do what i can to organize things and help out. Idk too many of the eu players but i do know quite a few of the na players.

It really depends on your connection quality (over the physical distance matter), if ping starts getting over 130/140 it's hard to make for something competitive. I rarely play on US and american servers because even when i'm lucky i'm pinging at about 175/180 ms over the usual 90/100 on euro servers (if i recall correctly the value has to divided in 4 for the exact measure).

My ping is around 15/25 on NA servers :)

I always play with 200ms+ on NA servers, I can still frag some :P, its a matter of sound, how well u know the map etc

There is not enough NA teams to do a tourney. I like the idea but there is only like 4 active teams that play regularly on the TWL ladder.

I'm happy to see there is still some motivation to keep the game alive. I can try to contact some EU clans by posting on their forums. People won't play on other continental servers for a serious tournament with money at the end IMO.

teams can be made of custom players, must not be necessarily a clan ..

EU and US will have to be separated, the time difference really does hurt, especially when your opponents are douchecanoes. I remember trying to work this stuff out back on the DRAAT tourney, euros were dicks about playing at times that made sense for everyone "no we won't play at 10pm on Saturday we busy getting drunk can't delay that."
Perhaps mans can have his own Aussie tourny.

I know in that particular case my team still had a large chunk of people in high school at the time the other team wanted to play, they could not access the computer on a weekday.
Re-reading that thread is actually pretty amusing, I doubt something like that would happen again.
