Post by: uNyaa on Monday, February 10, 2014, 07:26:06 AM
Hello ,

I have a question about twl ..
I think there are enough clans too start a new competion for AA2 on twl . And it's better for old players too come back. i started also last week , and i just mis something in AA , now we are always scrimming and shit .
but it's way more fun when it's on twl.

I have e-maild Nooz from twl , but i don't get anny reaction can some1 help me pls.

Think it wil be great too make 2 new ladders for 2vs2 and 4vs4!

Hope you will read this !

Thanks.

im not sure but I think CDC (twl's anticheat program) is not compatible with assist or something

CDC doesn't work with assist. We tried working with them once on it but i think it all feel through.

TWL at one did support assist and had a ladder open, but due to lack of commitment from teams they closed it down.

CDC is dead for AA2 atm, but isn't needed... Our AC is way better for now ;)
About TWL. You were thinking in a Ladder or League? I have pushed for ladders before in the past but most teams stopped playing around that time and left TWL.
There is also a discussion on forums from some players requesting AA3 back there and i highly doubt it will happen so...

Honestly, our best bet would be... Have our own Ladder/League...

Hell why not? It worked fine in the past, we have Assist, we have all players wanting to help, we have enough resources for it so again, why not?

I built that ladder when assist first came out, but i don't have the code for it anymore. Idk if spanky or anyone has a copy.

If we have it we can refactor it and integrate it into our site.

But i see on twl that AA3 has a few ladders .
i e-maild nooz but i don't get anny reaction.
i think it's good for AA2 that twl is coming back. There are enough clans for a new leauge and planny enough for 2vs2.

There's no current AA3 ladders, only AAPG.

I will email the source to you utRoda, just don't forget to remove your "exploit" :P

We also got this last year:
I may have talked to you before.  My name is Ronald (Ron) Highley and I am the owner of World Wide Internet Gaming LLC  (WWIG).  We have esport competition sites. You can take a look at all of them by going to our porthole site mywwig.com

I would like to do a small single elimination tournament each week for AA 25.  We will be giving out graphic trophies and doing it for fun.  We will supply all the servers to accommodate the teams.  I would like to have a message on the AA assist to introduce the tournament.  I used to run AA tournament under Tournament by ECK back in the day.

Please let me know your thoughts and how we can put something up on the aa assist.

Regards,
Ron

I remember playing EcK tournaments. Fun little 1 day things that us ( -v3.) would almost always win lol. Had some odd rules, but it was still fun :)

Convince TWL that enough teams will participate so it is worth the effort.

How many teams will sign up? Who already said they will do it for sure?
Give them a good reason to start it.

And bring forth that we have people that would be willing to step up as AA2 TWL admins. I'd be willing to step up, having experience from ESL and HTGN as admin and match arranger. All they need to do is start a leauge, the rest will the community take care of.
And no CDC, for the love of god. People have enough problem joining servers as it is with tournement mode and Unautorized username kicks. CDC, for people who haven't used it; is the worst 3rd party anti cheat program to ever have been used in a game, period. It catches people from time to time, sure and prevent people. Or atleast did, but it's alot of managing and fixing before getting it to work, something people wouldn't handle today. I'm sure of it.

I feel going through TWL will just be a waste of time, as sergio said, It would be better for us to have our own set up.

FLC is a good start for this. In the FLC, some teams scrim for the first time to se if they like it or not. It's not a big challenge to play against them, but it's always cool to see more teams in the current competition!

Ugh, TWL blows, always has, always will. Why not do it through Assist? I mean, seriously, we're donating and stuff to this cause, which shows we trust the leadership and what they've done here. So why shouldn't we trust them to do this?

I believe it's not about trust, but rather the fact that Assist devs don't have the time to manage such a thing.

I definitely get that angle, and I was rather vague. So we generally love what they've done here -- kept the game we love alive, even updated it (and even continually update it), fixed stuff, added stuff, and then created an official community for it, among other things. The structure, around which this whole thing is formulated, is sufficient enough -- and perhaps even efficient enough -- to handle an official league. The Devs don't have to administer the leagues necessarily. Picking league managers and administrators could be a vote-designated thing, considering we have 'community' built directly into the Assist program, in addition to these forums. If people throw their proverbial 'hat into the ring,' an initial screening of the candidates (based on whatever criteria) can be administered by Assist folks (if need-be), and then a community vote could decide the appointments of the potential league's operators.
