Title: PB Kick
Post by: Truffley on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, 12:39:03 PM
I keep getting kicked for coronas.ufx MD5tool mismatch...
As far as I'm aware, this texture doesn't change...

Could someone send me a new one? :P

I tried turning off corona in the ini file, but apparently it didn't work....

Yea... How about stop editing .ini files to gain an unfair advantage. Just download and launch the game, quit fucking around.

From what I've heard from multiple past Beta testers the Devs encouraged ini editing solely for performance in your game play.

Much better to just upgrade your computer to something made in the last 7 years.

I dont think they encouraged editing gamma and brightness etc.. to see through fog or editing your sound so you can hear motherfuckers grenade pins drop from all the way across a map lol

some ppl can't. that's ignorance of ur part :), took me YEARS to get a cheap/weird video card...

Actually it's not ignorance. I'm poor, really. I make a couple hundred a month and haven't been able to do any upgrades on my computer in over a year just because I never have the money. I don't even have enough now to buy clothes that I need or a new pair of shoes because mine are broken. But, in the last 5 years, I've purchased 3 graphics cards of varying performance for my main computer, all of which easily play AA on full settings at a resolution larger than 1024x768. I know all about poor and not having money to do/buy things. I just don't see how people that enjoy games, can't scrape together $40 in the past 5-7 years. Really, you can go out and buy basic used cards that were made 3 years ago for $20 even that play AA with really good FPS even on high settings.

ok, not ignorance at all :)
if your called poor at USA, I'm a miserable here haha

I won't ignore the difference in standard of living in the US vs other countries. But, I'm not complaining about not having a 7" versus a 5" screen in my 2012 Mercedes Benz. I really do understand poor and not being able to get the things you would like to have. I guess it may be harder to get electronics in other countries but I'm sure they're doable.

Guys, it's a little bit "funny" talking about poverty when there are so much people in the world staving, we should all be greatfull just to have food on the table...

Edit:

I meant starving and gratefull

I was editing the .ini file to try to prevent a cvar kick that was affecting me from playing

what the hell makes you think I have(want) an unfair advantage against anyone?
I simply ask for help and you act like I'm trying to cheat something... I have never edited my .ini for anything that wasn't necessary for me to play the game, get your facts straight.

As far as being poor, I pay more in rent than I make in a month... figure that out... Now can you figure out why i can't afford a new computer? or even parts for this POS...

I don't buy this because a stock installation of AA won't yield any kicks. That's precisely what the CVARs are for, to prevent variables from being changed from stock values.

I was getting kicked for a corona.utx file...
So i went into my ini to turn corona off, which is apparently another cvar violation... I had someone else send me a new corona.utx file, and fixed my .ini file... those are the only things I touched.

Maybe not the best way to fix the problem, but it sounded like a good idea at the beginning.

While we are on the subject, what ini tweaks CAN I make?
I have issues with lag, as well as my computer not being all that great...

Time between both kicks plausible? Log time match with forum time?

But wasn't only this problem right?
The next day you kept messing with the .ini file:
Quote
2012-06-21 01:59:15 | VIOLATION (CVAR) #9001: }{-Enigma-}{ (slot #1) Cvar Engine.GameEngine ColorInterfaceTextures * = TRUE

Was that for the corona kick also??
And more:

// Prevent colorization of players/objects
pb_sv_cvar "Engine.GameEngine ColorInterfaceTextures *" EXCLUDE "True"

I fixed both of those.
Don't know how they got changed, but I changed them back

I KNOW i never touched the coloring one...
and I never saw the cube maps kick?

as far as the first 2, 1 is a cvar kick for coronas .ufx, and the next is md5 for the ini file.
I figured out (the hard way) that in order to save the changes to my inio file, you have to close assist and start it up again... I was kicked a few more times because it doesn't change right away... :P

Here's my question...
How would these values keep getting changed without me touching them? Because like I said, I never touched the coloring one, or the cube one..

I DID however turn decals off in he ini, as well as a few other settings...
I doubt i changed anything by accident, I wasn't THAT drunk.. ffs

EDIT
ummm cube maps is a .ufx texure... which means i need another one of those... I think that my textures file got corrupted somehow...

Hard drive failure is possible.
Title: Re: PB Kick
Post by: Truffley on Thursday, June 21, 2012, 17:35:06 PM
I know it overheats at times, and my fps while playing drops to about 6...
but I doubt that would cause file corruption..

What part of the computer overheats? If your HD gets up past 45-50c then failure starts happening.

it's a laptop, so the whole damn thing gets hot...
The fan starts blowing out almost scalding hot air...
and I can't get the damn thing open to see whats wrong

Ah, yea, I would be concerned about hard drive failure. Heat + shock makes laptops really prone to that. Can you get a laptop cooling pad? Maybe look online for a disassembly guide (if you're brave enough, some laptops are easier than others). Usually all that's required to disassemble a laptop is a razor blade and a #1 Phillips screw driver.

It's a sony... doesn't want to come apart
I took all the screws out, but I don't like sticking a screwdriver somewhere i can't see, especially on a computer :P

Post by: Spanky on Thursday, June 21, 2012, 17:50:34 PM
Yea, I completely understand. Maybe try blowing some compress air in where the fan exhaust the air, this will push dust out the intake. Your best bet is a laptop cooling pad but do check your hard drive's health with HDTune.

I just bought a cooling pad cuz I had similar problems and didn't want my laptop overheating and it works great. it doesn't get hot playing AA with the charger in

It really is amazing. You don't even need to aim the cooling pad fans into the CPU cooler, just merely cooling the plastic under the laptop is enough to drop temps a ton.

I need a new cubemaps.ufx
just got kicked again :P
HEEEEEEEEEEELP

ok, I got a new one...
anyone notice anything missing before I get kicked for it again?

I've noticed that BOTH kicks, when i got a new file, the old ones weren't there...
hmmm

I'd rather not delete all my settings...
retard

It's easy to fix the little things, a lot of work to get all my keys binded again

So save a copy of your user.ini and then repair your installation.
