Hey,
I keep getting this annoying lag spike for like 5 seconds, sometimes I get it very often and sometimes it's a little less. It really ruins my fun and it's just very annoying. Is there anyone who can tell me how I can fix this?
Thanks.
-
i have the same, its caused by PB in my case, nothing can be done
-
type this on console: PB_Sleep 500

Have been dealing with this off and on for months now. Some days it happens a hand full of times and there are days it seems to be non-stop. But have never had them last for more than maybe two seconds and usually it's a second or less but seems like an eternity when you run up on and enemy and try to shoot them.
-
Some people are reporting the same issue after installing a "no recoil". :P
-
i had since i installed assist, not saying assist is bad or w/e, just stating a fact.. with pb sleep and ssd i have less irritating, but still sometimes its annoying .
-

Tried this already, saw this on a different post. Didn't help tho.

Read my first thread about this lagg spike, i've had it since I started playing, no need to accuse (if being srs)
And I took a while off if you're wondering why I'm posting this again
-
if lag gets that bad just leave the server give the game a rest, been alot of servers been laggy as hell, rather not play then play on a laggy ass server

I will have to remember this the next time I lock up in a fire fight and am dead on the ground when the spike passes. :yikes: :duh:
-
I would check the usual suspects first.
Which means every program that is running in background while playing.
(Antivirus, etcetera...)
Those "Lag Spikes" are caused by hard drive access many times.
You may try "pb_system 0" as well.

Says I can't do that while i'm on a server..
-
disconnect in game and try.
-
have you tried
/dump lag cache
in console
or
/emptylagbin
or
and this one always stops lag for me
/quit
press enter and then
/dumpcache
the first ones are temp fixes but the last one will be lag free for the rest of that session.

I got rid of that shitty 5 sec lag, but now I have a different kind of lag..
It's like my laptop runs alot of shit and it slows down (lag) my AA , but I closed all useless programs on the task management
Anyone have an idea where it could come from?
I also disabled AVG, but doesn't seem to help
-
try auslogics boostspeed 5, it costs some money, but you know where to find it free ..
-
Let your pc breathe. That's what I do now, I play few hours and then put him of abit so he cools out, not sure if it helps
-

@ganja, als ik bijv 10 uur lang laptop uit heb en ik start em op en ga AA doen, dan heb ik alsnog deze lag dus daar zal het niet aan liggen

@krlz i tried torrent, but ill try pb tomorrow
-
Okay I cleaned all the shit up with registered Auslogics Boostspeed, did not help at all. (Thanks anyways)
Will this help: erasing all the content in C and D disc, and then download the stuff I need again?
-
have you tried pingtest.net
-
with auslogics you need to turn off all the useless shit you dont need, go to system advisor, and after go to advanced tools..

It's not my wifi, it's my laptop, something slows down AA while I play it. Might even be a setting in AA itself which I can't find

try this lowest video settings ini:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64317034/ArmyOps.ini
In-Game Settings-> Game - > Uncheck Dynamic Netspeed.
close the game. all done.
-
Do you play any other multiplayer game? And do you experience the same issue while playing that game?
Although this might not be your case, i had issues with a crappy, cheap modem that was able to handle web surfing but was almost unable to handle any "heavier" load for a long timelapse, especially online gaming (i guess that involves way too many small packets of data that are sent and received at a high rate).

Ok thanks, did both now, i'll report later if it worked or not.
@Koden I did play BF2, but I didn;t have any issues then.
And same for AA actually I didn't have this issue until a week and half ago..

Task Manager -> ArmyOps.exe -> Priority -> Above Normal or High. try above normal first;
if you have a muilt-core processor, set affinity to core 0 or 1.

Driver & Windows updates?

''access denied''
@spanky how to?
-
Core affinity won't do anything to help. Process priority might help.
Windows Update in the control panel and then for drivers, what computer do you have? Is it an OEM model or custom build? What are the specs?

Toshiba Intel core I3 CPU M 350 @ 2.27 GHz
64 Bits 3GB RAM
I always do Windows update, no available updates atm
-
Head over to the Toshiba website and get the latest drivers for your machine.
Is it Intel, AMD or Nvidia graphics?
-
interesting, can't change the Priority...
run assist as admin?

Always

Intel
-
You should not be running Assist as admin. I put in an awful lot of work so that assist works without admin rights because it is the correct way of coding and its safer and more secure for the user. The only time you need admin rights is to install that dam punkbuster.
-
Intel
Ouch :) Head over here:
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
May or may not help but it's always good to have the latest drivers.

:o I remember a time ago that when I didn't run as admin.. I would've been kicked in no time for some shitty reason
@spanky looks like the most are up to date and some can't even be updated
-
Good on you for being updated then :) I'm out of suggestions.
-
run chkdsk, defrag your disk;
-
Windows Vista, 7 & 8 will automatically defrag once a week but chkdsk is good.
-
Lol defrag... Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in again.
-

Shouting at it works too.
-

It looked like adjusting the priority of Armyops did work, but my laptop randomly shuts down twice.. which never happend before
And I tried putting affinity to core 0 or 1, but it made AA make some strange ass noises
-
Nothing seems to be helping, I deleted lots of programs, I used auslogics with serial, everything low detailed in game, gameboosters... and fuck lots more. I'm clueless......

Smart man!
Im hiding my noobbot.exe on a special place nowadays!

I guess I fixed the lag i've recently got on maps like bridge crossing but I still have it on SF maps. And the lag spikes are back aswell. fml

In my experience lag spikes are usually network or server caused. If there's nothing on your computer that is using network besides AA (you mentioned something about using gamebooster) then it's server side. Try different servers, maybe try to notice a difference with few vs many players. PB usually causes issues the most when a player connects.

I'm pretty sure i'm the only one with this problem, and i'm sure it's causes by my laptop. But I can't find what causes this shitty lag.
To make it clear:
1. I have lag spikes, my screen freezes for a couple seconds and my character keep walking, I also still hear everything when this happens. I ussually fall off the bridge bc of this shit.
2. I have another lag on bigger maps like SF Hosp, it looks like something slows down my gameplay.

Laptop + screen freeze while gaming? Methinks you are overheating.

Wot? My screen freezes for a couple second and this happens a couple times per round.

I don't think it's due to overheating Spanky. The lagg I sometimes have is because of overheating (pc on entire day) and it's different as he describes it :/
-
I've seen this before, personally. When I was overclocking my graphics card, sometimes I would push it too hard and the screen would cut in and out as the Nvidia driver reset the GPU to try and fix problems. Same thing would happen when I forgot to turn up the fans. Gaming on a laptop? Just turns the internals into lava.
Do yourself and the laptop a favor and get a cooling pad, see if that helps. At the very least, it will prolong the life of your laptop.
-
Cooling pad is great thing. My new laptop could burn while playing Battlefield 3 without colling pad. It gives MUCH.

What did it do for you?
-
If you ever happen to open up a laptop and take a look at the interiors you might get a hint of why they get that hot so easily, the cooling system is usually built at the very limit of their possibilites, which ideally might be correct if you're not using a laptop to play a lot (small fans spinning at high speeds kill comfort), not to mention the psu part (depending on your laptop manifacturer you might get a decent psu or a poor one). While time pass by the small fans and fins of those laptop systems get clogged with dust and that reduces cooling potential, so you end up having to clean the system or add other cooling tools.

What's your advice? Get better fans?

I edited the post above, my advice is get a desktop pc to play on, you can build a very decent one with used parts for a fraction of what a laptop would cost (if you can afford it and if you don't strictly need a gaming laptop...which i doubt anyway). You might save money for a good display (something which would cost you a lot on a laptop and still isn't very common).

Allright, thanks.
First I will try to clean the inside of my laptop and get a new coolingpad. See what that will do..
I don't feel like buying a new PC just to play AA :P
-
I hope you have a little monny becose they are so cheap these days
if you buy 1 you can play almost all games for less than 400 euro .

Hahah vanoke, Aldi? Ik ga liever voor de real-deal dan. Geld is geen probleem voorderest, maar ik zie ertegen op om een pc te kopen als ik al een goed werkende laptop heb, alleen AA is wat minder hierop

You can get a better built if you choose the parts yourself (you can also find several online stores assembling parts into a system for you for a honest price), pre assembled pc are often lacking in parts like the PSU (you don't want to go dead cheap with the power supply because a cheap one can do a lot of damage if it deteriorates, which is likely).
