I am having HUGE problems with this game right now....
I'll be playing fine... 80 fps, 40 at the least...
all of a sudden I can watch my fps start dropping... goes all the way down to 6.... and stays that way for about a minute...
I can't play that way...
It used to never happen, but recently it's every minute or so...
was there an update to assist that might have caused this?
I've done everything i can think of, short of reinstalling my OS...
virus scans, system scans, uninstalling everything i don't really use...
nothing helps...
I checked my AA settings, all on lowest possible, and my .ini is tweaked for best possible performance...
I even tried pb_sleep, but it won't help
I checked taskmgr... nothing running in background...
and yes, all my drivers are up to date...
I have tried gamebooster, with no luck...
So NOW, I'm here, hoping someone can help me :P
any ideas? something I haven't tried yet?
please help :(

could be a hardware issue. Spanky knows quite a bit about computers so i assume he will post some suggestions. Make sure your heat syncs are all working properly. Maybe they are clogged and the cpu is overheating?

Disk issues? Check the disk health, if doesn't have bad sectors...

I'm playin at the same temp, but my fps are 86 stable... It could be ur internet connection that's fucked up.
In a computer u can change many things, install, reinstall and uninstall, but at the end of the day, ur
provider is always the same. I would download some online-gaming simulator and let it measure the
connection, see if it's stable.

@ Zoxee, I have checked my internet connection at the time of these spikes, and it's showing 100mb/s, so I doubt that's the problem...
That being said, I'm looking for an online gaming sim to run, just to check :D
@sergio I ran it this morning as well, all was green, didn't feel the need to post the screenshots :)

I forgot to mention that after about 15 seconds or so, the fps go back up to normal... :P

If it's green don't waste time posting pictures. About Spanky, may not be the same problem but the solution may work.

Everytime I've had that happen, it is because another program decides to hijack the entire CPU cycle. Usually it's an update program or something that doesn't know any better. Remember that computers and programs are stupid because they need to be told what to do.

I cleaned out my fan, and it's still happening...
I ran Malware antibytes, as well as Combofix, and neither found a virus...
as for Spanky, I took the liberty of trying the steps mentioned in the above post, even though it's not the same problem, and the issue is still not resolved... ( i had already done that when I made my last post)
I am going to run Prime 95 overnight and see what happens...
results are: 54 tests 0 errors... 0 warnings

Update: whatever i was screwing around with seems to have fixed it...
I now have a consistant 30-40 fps (worse than it was) but it's not spiking anymore...
i'll get a new comp when i can lol
