Don't get why I get this as I have plenty of RAM .... my real specs first:
Custom built Gaming Rig:
Antec 900 Gaming Case
Antec 850w High Current Pro PSU
Asus P5-Q Pro Turbo motherboard
Intel Quad Extreme QX9770 at 3.2GHz (not overclocked)
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Rev 2 cpu cooler
4gb (2x 2gb) Kingston HyperX PC2-8500 RAM
XFX HD6850 Black Edition gfx card
2 x 500gb western digital hdd (1 gaming and 1 os)
sony DVD-RW and DVD-ROM drives
ALL SATAII connections
OS = atm Win XP PRO x86 but plan to get Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed before Christmas when I get around to it
Build AmericasArmy_Build_[2004-06-01_02.01.01]
OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 3203 MHz with 2047MB RAM
Video: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series (7279)
Ran out of virtual memory. To prevent this condition, you must free up more space on your primary hard disk.

Nope, it seems only 1 module is either working or being used (if you actually have 2 installed). Anyway Win XP 32bits won't address the whole 4gb.
P.s. the psu is way an overkill unless you plan to get more demanding hardware.

I wouldn't be so sure about that Koden. I've got 16GB and AA has reported 1024MB at times when I critical. I've seen this from others as well.
-
True, doesn't recognise the full 4GB, reports 3.25gb but still that's not 2047 lol
The PSU is there for when I can afford to get double gfx :)
PS: Both modules are brand new (only 4 months old now) and have checked with memtest86+ and no errors.

Virtual memory is the page file in Windows. Have you disabled yours?
-
Not that I am aware of.
-
Look it up and make sure it's set to automatic or let Windows decide.

Hi, using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308417 as reference my settings for my page file are as follows:
Custom size is selected ... initial size is 2046 and maximum is 4092 ... I have the options to set "system managed" or "no paging file"
-
I would do system managed. Page files aren't needed much these days. Although, you do have a low amount of memory, especially for gaming.
-
To be fair I only need 4GB. I don't do modern gaming. I simply have Flight Sim, OMSI Bus Sim, AAO Assist, C&C Generals, Stars - the classic game and my favourite Open Transport Tycoon. So I don't really need any more RAM :) Have set to system manage. Thanks Spanky
-
Skrewy: need more ram. hehe
-
virtual memory is done over paging file. so activate paging file on drive C:
as normal, you should activate a pagefile on a fast hd, but not on C:. but in this case (aa2assist), you have to create it on drive C:, because aa2 is looking there for.
about the ram, i guess aa2 will only detect the ram in the first row. i have 4x4 GB ram and it do say 4GB available. on other pc i have 8GB with 4x2 and it do say 2GB availabe.
i could be wrong, but ...
btw: be sure you have enough space on your system drive C:
-
AA is a 32bit app, should only see 3.5 of ram no?
-
yes, this is true
