I'm pretty sure that will never happen.
+ looking at out right now (and the top of this page), Auth is down again :(
I hope it's not as bad as you said and you wont have to close down AA in the long run!

do not panic at all. this can happen and the server will come up again. maybe one or two admins will have a lot of work to make it running again, but this is the whole world of IT - nothing else.
so keep cool, make some relaxing things and have a look in 2-3 hours in here again.
btw: aa2 will never die :D

and possessed, the free play mode is not working, because you still need a account to play. i tried it, but it dosn't work.
