Post by: irdx on Wednesday, September 04, 2013, 20:10:40 PM
Hello. Well, when i'm trying to deploy in a server or start the game (training, free mission), Wine crashes and show this error:

Anyone know how to fix this issue? I can't play :(

I'm using this client. This uses Wine for load the application.

I removed /Library/Applications.../25Assist entries and 25Assist at ~/Applications. Let's see what happens in a clean reinstallation.

Edit: yesterday the game worked fine :P

Edit 2:

Still same error. I don't know what to do anymore.

Don't use Wine, use the Mac binary.

I'm using the mac binary, that I've downloaded from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/aa25assist/files/Binaries/25Assist.app.tar.gz/download

tar -xvzpf 25Assist.app.tar.gz, executed 25Assist.app, installed the game, tried to deploy on a server and still getting this error :(

What am I doing wrong? :)

Thx for reply!

Are you running the Mac binary in Wine? The error says ArmyOps.exe, I believe it's .bin for Mac or something like that.

The "binaries" are in this folder:

/Users/irdx/Library/Application Support/25Assist
MacBookPro:25Assist irdx$ ls -lha
total 6064
drwxr-xr-x   9 irdx  staff   306B Sep  5 00:26 .
drwx------+ 58 irdx  staff   1.9K Sep  4 23:57 ..
-rw-r--r--@  1 irdx  staff   6.0K Sep  5 00:43 .DS_Store
-rwxr-xr-x@  1 irdx  staff   2.9M Sep  4 23:57 7za
drwxr-xr-x   8 irdx  staff   272B Sep  5 00:38 AA25.app
-rw-r--r--@  1 irdx  staff    66B Sep  4 23:57 IsRunning.txt
drwxr-xr-x   4 irdx  staff   136B Sep  5 00:24 Pics
drwxr-xr-x  14 irdx  staff   476B Sep  5 00:22 armyops.app
-rw-r--r--@  1 irdx  staff   142B Sep  5 00:21 settings.dat

As I can see, AA25.app is a WRAPPER (The Intel Mac Wrapper in 25Assist application) generated by Wineskin Winery and the armyops.app contains the game files (armyops.exe, etc etc..)

I've played yesterday. The game stopped  to work suddenly :(

I wonder if that's what Jonny did to get it to work on Intel Mac... He'll have to answer you on this one. I haven't used Mac in probably close to a decade.

sorry irdx, non of the admins here know jack about macs.

have you tried reinstalling the wrapper, delete aa25.app from the home folder and it will reinstall it. after that try 'reset and repair aa' button on the settings tab.

Deleting/uninstalling Wine will solve your problem.

I already tried to reinstall everything. I removed the .app files and 25Assist folder in ~/Library/Application../, reinstalled/repaired the game through 25Assist and I'm still getting this error.

Well, my solution was to install the game under parallels. It's working very well and smoothly.

Thx for all replies!

Interesting, Last I checks parallels had problem handing Direct 3D games.

I have not yet heard of any other mac users that are having a problem with our wine wrapper. not yet anyway.

There's always a first person. This time, it was me :P
Parallels is working very well. Better than wrapper, imo.

only for the Intel mac version. The power PC version is a native unix build of armyops.

Have you tried to use: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosetta_(software) it looks more native.

Yes that allows the powerpc build to used on an intel mac, It was taken out of the system in OSX Lion. Also it was very slow and would give around a third of the FPS you would get using a wine wrapper.
