Warning: Don't Test Hacks (aka: I f**ked up)
« on: Sunday, November 17, 2013, 21:21:13 PM »
 I did read on the process to be unbanned but have noticed that people that where curious to see how some of this hacks work are not being unbanned. Which leads me to what just happened to me.

I was on a site reading on how this hacks work not to gain any advantage over anyone, just curious on how this hacks where done i dropped one file into the system folder to see that hack in action. I had no intentions of gaining honor or any points towards my account like I said. I logged on to a empty server to so the hack in action and noticed nothing had changed. At this time I figured the hack was bogus so went to the system dir to remove the file and it was gone. Hmmm I thought i dropped that file in there so I dropped it back in the folder and started the game back up and was notified of being banned. Shit I thought to myself I play this game for fun and was just seeing how this hacks work and bam! I not allowed to play anymore. I never even used this hack on a server with anyone playing because I know how it would not be fair. Just a word of caution to anyone out there the developers of assist don't want anyone fu!@ing with there system files for any reason and so I'm shit out of luck and so is anyone that just wants to have fun. The fun of wanting to know more on how this game or any other game works with hacks or mods is over.

Not happy about this, so be it I will have to move on from playing this game.....unless the developers want to be less serious about how they deal with people that play the game for fun and not for honor

The file was gone because Assist removes any files that aren't supposed to be there. Also, I'm not sure why you thought "I was testing something" was a good excuse.

How exactly is testing  a hack in a server learning how it works? It may show you what it does, but will not show you how it does it. Plus, the hack description tells you what it does, so that excuse is complete BS.

I'm inclined to believe this guy. Unfortunately that doesn't mean anything as far as his ban.

A note to you and to anyone else that wants to test;
Download AA 2.5 from somewhere else (Filefront), install it, run a server and test your hack there without Assist running. Assist won't see it and you won't get banned.
It's like shaving your pubes to make your junk look bigger.
Might look bigger, but it aint.....

I guess thats too late for me and I understand there is no mercy In all seriousness Its only ends my fun with this game and I'll miss the game but I don't take gaming that serious to have to gain honor or anything else besides that. Oh well. shit happens

I think you may have overlooked the TOS agreement which states

The Assist Developers ("Devs") consider cheating through the use of "unauthorized third party programs" a violation of this TOS agreement. An "unauhthorized third party program" is defined, but not limited to, any alteration or add-on that:
   (i) enables or facilitates cheating of any type;
   (ii) allows users to modify or "hack" the AA graphical user interface, environment, and/or experience in any
                      way not expressly allowed by the Assist Devs in the TOS agreement;
   (iii) intercepts, mines or otherwise collects information from the Auth server.

The Licensee is considered violating the Terms of Service if you, the Licensee:
   (i) Harass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another player that is unwanted, such as repeatedly
        sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation,
                     religion, heritage, etc.
   (ii) Transmit or facilitate distribution of content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive,
                       vulgar, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, or in
                       a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Hate speech is not tolerated.
   (iii) Disrupt the flow of chat in AA with vulgar language, abusiveness, use of excessive shouting [all caps] in
                       an attempt to disturb other users, "spamming" or flooding [posting repetitive text].
   (iv) Impersonate another person (including celebrities); indicate falsely that you are a Dev, or attempt to
                       mislead users by indicating that you represent Assist or it's Devs.
   (v) Attempt to get a password, account information, or other private information from anyone else on Assist
                      or AA.
   (vi) Promote or encourage any illegal activity including hacking, cracking or distribution of counterfeit software.
   (vii) Upload files that contain a virus or corrupted data.
   (viii) Use or distribute "auto" software programs, "macro" software programs or other "cheat utility"
                        software program or applications.

   (ix) Modify any part of the Assist service.
   (x) Post and/or distribute any player's real-world personal information inside Assist or AA.
   (xi) Attempt to interfere with, hack into or decipher any transmissions to or from the Assist or AA servers.
   (xii) Use and/or distribute exploits to gain an unfair advantage in a game.

   (xiii) Interfere with the ability of others to enjoy playing AA.

Hey nailum.
Honestly we can't know for sure if you're talking the truth or not, it's so easy to just come here with a "imba" excuse to get the ban removed, and so i won't even try to realize if it was actually true or not but... "16.09.2012, 13:21". So... Why testing now? Over a year after you started to play?

The game has a AC tool and you got caught for using a cheat, netherless if it was on a empty server or full. Who can assure you would join a full server after if you didn't get caught?
So, to be far, with all others that got caught without no real intention, your account should also remain banned.
My opinion.
"Three things can not hide for long: the Moon, the Sun and the Truth"?
Hmm?

I'll tell you (without entering to the details)... e.g. in RE (Reverse engineering) the visuals - end result - is very important. It is much easier if you know how given application works / looks / behaves in real time.

Q: Why on Server?
A: Because on LAN you can't test applications like hacks without the  enemies.

What if you could change the world by changing your perspective of it?
Would you?

My opinion.

The only person that would know what I was doing can easily look back on my account activity and see how much I'm not hacking intentionally. You don't have to believe a word I say but I don't have to lie about knowing I f@#ked up and stated that. Go figure making more of it then its even worth. The real hacks got this game beat along time ago and mods and hacks made this game fun. I've been playing multiplayer games from mid 90's dukenukem3d doom, quake and so on. The games had editors and promoted custom maps and mods. That was fun! unreal really opened up the door and thanks to that engine your playing AA. Now that I have read some posts tonight it looks to me  Assist has just taken fun out this game allowing no mods exc. I understand the reasons behind it just understand the history of online gaming and where we are today.. some would believe that the fun is gone with Assist in aspects of allowing all to make custom maps and mods. Thats the sad point.....
