well, I downloaded from the alternative link - still got the ype html> error and deploy can't find  any Servers at all
ERROR CONTACTING 2.5 ASSIST SERVER!
UNABLE TO GET ANY SERVER LISTS
I did replace the system folder and replaced Sourceforge with AAO25.com
Maybe cause it still is Version 8.18 and not 8.19 - there is no autoupdate to latest
Version 8.19

Don't know what to do anymore - will the sourceforge Problem be solved soon ?

Lord-of-War, atleast the file that Spanky posted solved half of your problems, now you can open up your client without it crashing or giving errors.

I'm not sure if the server listing error is related to the launcher version (8.18) in the alternative download. It could be, because there are people (http://aao25.com/servers/) playing right now.

The file that Spanky posted only works on Windows. There is no binary executable for Linux/Mac. I've downloaded the alternative files + the official launcher (Mac-version) directly from the main page and extracted them in the same directory. When I've opened up the launcher, it detected that I had previously downloaded the game files and prompted me to change the installation directory. I did it, but when it finishes loading, the client gets stuck in the same error as before, it tries to download 7za-mac because it was not included in alternative file bundle. So now I'm stuck.

As my last resource, I've downloaded the 7zip source code from (http://p7zip.sourceforge.net/) and compiled it. It creates some files and a 7za executable. I've renamed it to 7za-mac and copied it to the Data/ folder in the alternative download. When I launch the client, it still not recognizing it and prompts me to download the (same..?) file.

Pipez0r or UnH0Ly_Gh0sT, as you guys are using linux, you could test if this setup works out:
- Install p7zip from your package manager (sudo apt-get update -y && sudo apt-get install p7zip)
- Download AAO25 official assist client for Linux (http://sourceforge.net/projects/aa25assist/files/Binaries/25Assist-Linux.zip/download)
- And the alternative standalone AAO25 from Spanky (http://aao25.com/forum/support/alternate-download-for-assist/).

Extract them in the same folder and follow the same steps that I did. If it works please post the results.

Lord, The SourceForge problem is not related to the AAO Assist team, you can check their status at: https://twitter.com/sfnet_ops

They've posted an article about the downtime on their site: http://sourceforge.net/blog/sourceforge-infrastructure-and-service-restoration/

The only thing that we can do is wait for it to become stable again.
