Title: Sound problem with Windows 8

Hello together,

hope this is the right part of the forum for my questions. If not, please move it.

I am using now Windows 8. But I have big sound problems when I am playing AA2. The sound is not off, but it´s very strange. Steps, shooting, everything sounds like on drugs. Maybe there is already a thread regarding this problem, but I can not find it. If not, maybe some of you can help me to fix it.

I've had this problem before, too.

Have your drives updated (especially the sound card) ?!

Does it happen when using youtube, or any other software frequency? I guess you need to update your sound card like Mikawe said. Automatic updates has been installed today for my windows 8 and have no problem with assist whatsoever. Make sure all updates installed and sometimes it causes because the sound card has reached its limit and you overpoweringly use it for example, too loud.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound card (maybe 2-3 years old). When I was running the new system the first time, I had no sound. Afterwards I have downloaded and installed a new patch (hope the newest) from the Creative homepage. Now I have no problems with music, youtube, other videos or games like AA4 and CS. Only AA2 has the sound problem. Maybe I can try to install again the latest patch for my sound card, but I don´t think it will work. What do you think?

Creative is crap, go look on their forums for 3rd party driver packs. I want to say the guy's name is david_k or something like that. Those always worked better for me when I had problems with my X-Fi.

Listen to Spanky, and use daniel_k drivers, I use to have issues before and swapped to his drivers around 4-5 years ago. Never looked back... now I'm on a mac and default sound  :P
