Title: Armyops ini not working!
Post by: TomHighway64 on Sunday, February 23, 2014, 12:34:10 PM
Armyops ini edits dont work anymore ;-(
Ive been running edited armyops ini file for ages. A guy on here did it for me. Changed lighting and other stuff. I yesterday completed medic training and first part of St test. Then I try to play pipe and PB tells me im not running it!? WTF
So I get banned for 24 hours , I then today reinstal;l the game completely and PB. All works fine but MY armyops ini file no longer has any effect. Im left with the standard file from the downlaod.
Anyone know why my edited file Ive been using for ages suddenly no longer works?
Cheers
Tom

Only modify settings In either Assist or in AA, don't edit ini's manually.
It's possible to get a Global Permanent ban if you change some settings in the Ini

Goto Install Tab and click on Reset & Repair AA.
That will restore them to normal.

All I did was change the file in the Assist menu under settings. Just made the screen a bit lighter etc. nothing onerous. Now the changes I made that have worked since 4 months at least do not work.
I have restored and reset . I have the standard ini file saved , but when I add the edited file its changes have now no effect.
Thanks

Would be a great idea to post a sticky on the values which, if changed gets you a perm ban..

I think a good guideline would be:
If you don't know what it does (or know it gives you an unfair advantage), leave it be.

That would be a bad policy
By posting what can not be edited, indirectly we would give permission to edit every other setting, even those that would give you an unfair advantage.

I'm still amazed that people still try to gain advantage in such a way.

I cant understand why people are talking about bans!!
In the settings section of of the Assist menu you have the ability to look at both Armyops ini and userini files . Whay are they there if they are not meant to be edited...?

And look here what the administration has to say about changing the ini....

AA forum is from the past.
The administration here makes the rules now.

So using your rather one tracked argument, changing the gamma, brightness settings in the ingame settings is also a no go then !!>?

go 25assist, settings, video.
there you can select fullscreen mode - then you can change by F7, F8 the settings in game.

You can change it ingame...  No need to play with ini for that.

There are, or were loads of shit you could change that made it easier on the eyes, made the game run better etc. Being double colorblind (or however you call it in English) there are alot of colors, effects and such that messes with me, so not to gain an unfair advantage, but to get on the same level as everyone else i always did this. I still have it tweaked to get maximum out of my pc, I seriously thought this was common practice.

Actually I suffer with a slight eye problem with darker colours or slight night blindness . So thats the main reason I wanted to alter my settings . Not that I feel the need to defend what I have done. Im a 36 honour , pretty crappy stats and play for fun when Ive had a hard day at work or when the weather is bad at weekends and I cant get out on the golf course!!
From what I see regularly in the games I get shot by guys with an ability to one shoot me when I appear suddenly round corners , see guns that are pointing at the floor when they own 2-3 players in one go etc etc. There are more important issues to worry about if you want to try and weed out the real rule breakers.
Just my opinion of course ;-)

Don't you have these setting on the monitor itself, Brightness and gamma?

monitor settings rarely give you the same color fill changes as g-card/game settings. Usually just greyish and sharp/dull color changes which appear when you alter the monitor settings.
