Wanted to install aao 2.5 and all...., but then:
AAO 2.5 Timeout on login.
"Time out waiting for reply from authorisation system, please try again later" ... it said
Using old battletracker name and password (renewed as I saw that as a tip to do if failed login).
Would appreciate help :)
-
I guess you should login at battletracker, go tracker settings and change your AAO playername to that what you are trying to use at assist. should work I guess.
good luck
-
I try using Arez as username/playername, is what I got @ aao-tracker and here for that matter.
:)
-
Does one have to have the game installed first?
-
....or is it because I need my account to be activated ?
-
The error says you can't communicate with the auth system.
Make sure you allow Assist to access internet by adding an exception to the firewall. It needs to download AA.
What's your battletracker account?
Just give me a link, I'll give you an example:
http://battletracker.com/index.php?page=AAOPlayerStats&pid=358887 (http://battletracker.com/index.php?page=AAOPlayerStats&pid=358887)
-
http://battletracker.com/index.php?page=AAOPlayerStats&pid=310105 (http://battletracker.com/index.php?page=AAOPlayerStats&pid=310105)
-
Since it's an old account, it doesn't need activation.
-
Very well. :D So why do I get the msg: Time out waiting for reply from authorisation system, please try again later
-

-
Yes well this I have seen to ... my firewall is allowing the 25assist.exe ....still I get the same error msg
-
Did Assist already download AA for you (~4GB)?
When exactly is this error occuring? When trying to log in?
-
I found some old 25assist stuff from a long time ago, this I deleted.
So I run the thing and it now the window that pops up says something new:
"2,5assist doesn not have permission in it's home directory, assist cannot work under these conditions. Pls check the write permissions in the 25assist folder and check that you don't have another instance of 25assist already running. "
.....and then the window shuts down
-
Did you try running it as administartor?
-
No I didn't.
-
Yes I meant, got "Runtime error".....however: ...my OS is old, XP Pro x 64. Is that it perhaps? I know probably nobody even uses that anymore.

I take it you tried running it with administrator then?
I hope you downloaded a fresh install of Assist from this site rather than try to get something very old to work? There's been quite a few updates if you haven't played for years.
-
Yes I downloaded 25assist form here.
-

Yes. Then I got runtime error. Doesn't seem like anything is gonna work for me.....guess I need a new OS
-
Maybe you got a faulty Assist if you keep getting the runtime error. Did you try redownlading it?
-
For what it's worth XP 64-bit is a really weird beast, not like 64-bit versions of newer Windows.
-
Did you get it to work? i have the same problem!
I registered about 2 days ago, didn't try to login again untill today due to the authorization process.
Shouldn't be my OS or anything. Checked everything else that's been suggested in this thread and nothing worked.
-
Mekatataku, wait. its a problem from assist which has to be fixed. its NOT at your end.
just wait. all have this problem now.
-
ah okay.. thanks for the feedback, Merlin.
