Hello,

This is anti cheat related, even though it may appear to be in the wrong section.

Is it possible to get the original GUID's in to the game, and in particular the PBSS's?

The future presence of GUID's might be a real possibility.
The GUID's will not be the same as the ones when the army hold the auth servers.

This is a two sided question.

At this current time, there is no GUID's as PB doesn't support the game. Assist has its own anti cheat system, and way of identifying players.

Eliz, has been working on a few things and we have been able to generate GUIDS, but they are not player unique as they change every time you join a server.

People are looking into this, but at this time the answer is no.

One of the 'older' cheats was a name spoofer, so GUID's were important.

Just trying to get my head around how things are done in Assist and how they can/could be done.

ELiZ, I know your work and have been in awe of it for years. Is there some way of supporting the original GUID's, if they can be found? I know this won't work for new players unless there is some way of generating them. I am looking at this from the older systems point of view with streaming logs and such that relied on the unique GUID's allocated to a player.

It would be pretty hard to spoof your name with assist.

A lot of things have changed since the normal days with AA and Punkbuster. Assist anti-cheat is really good, its like Punkbuster on steroids.

I'm pretty sure it's next to impossible to bring back the old GUID system.

However, it should be possible to generate Unique ID's for each user.

GUID's is something that ELiZ have been looking for, he "enabled" (note the quotes) them in some test ;)

Hello,

This may end up in PM's to stop open discussion that will give people ideas.

How or where or both do you validate the GUID's as Pragmatic is no longer about?

Assist's authorization server. It handles everything else including player logins.
It's like shaving your pubes to make your junk look bigger.
Might look bigger, but it aint.....
