Polls Update

Ever since we introduced polls into Assist, we always thought there was something fishy with the results. Looking into the code, I believe I found the problem and tested it to make sure. With this issue now fixed, I have put up a few polls for people to vote in. Check out the Polls tab in Assist to vote on a few ideas we are throwing around.

Please post here if you run into any issues.

Make some more questions:

Do you want side switch every 6 rounds? (Depends on the rounds)
Do you want coop maps without AI?
Would you like AI to be brought back with Eliz coding?
Would you like to remove 203 nade from sf weapon on hospital?
Would you like roof to be re adjusted/modified? (sf hospital)
Would you like to change VIP to Briefcase or something similar in sf hospital? :)
Would you like forced map switch?

Double honor points in the weekend? For that matter, why wouldn't you just modify the point settings in favour of the stuff that gets less played compared to Hospital, Pipeline and whatever else gets played the most?

I'd bet most of the people who currently play this game won't be positive over the 6rounds switch even if it's a good idea.
A PvP version of any coop map requires some rethinking and modifying, if you were to port Snakeplain you'd have to probably use mostly the central fort, modify the tunnels, rebuild half of the fort for pvp gameplay and  plan-set the objectives, basically making something new (which isnt necessarily bad but requires time and dedication provided you also got people who will play that). 

I think any modification done on Hospital will create some rage (unless you're subtle enough, and you could push a test version with some changes and see what happens, the less visible it is the less they complain). Btw the M203 shouldn't even be part of the SF Hospital equipment. Back in ages (the former devs) pretended grenades weren't available for both ROE and realism issues (the US army won't use explosives inside a Hospital, they said), and the 203 kills the fun.
And for one thing i wouldn't change, the VIP should stay. That's the only map that forces players to actually care for the objective (being a teammate).

Well they could just remain the switch if they were interested to stay otherwise. It is not a force.

It does require building which is why coding AI would be the best thing to do, saving time and no needing to change anything in coop maps. But I understand that it takes time and dedication.

Yes there will be complains like in any change you almost made, at this point if this is not a success and you receive a lot of complains I would then recommend to lower the points you gain in SF Hospital. You say truth, releasing a small modification after another is the best thing to do avoiding a lot of distraction and attention in what you're doing. Eliz can easily test it out, like he did with scoreboard and that's why there is also a poll opinion which could be used (but I guess all hospital whores wont be happy).

Yes 203 is not needed and I am not sure why they left it with it. At the moment if you play SF Hospital, there are lots of players who are nading inside hospital, there is no tactical approach, they just approach killing innocent nurses and disturbing the gameplay of realism. I mean if we are talking about realism, would you nade inside hospital? I mean the nade would blow probably a lot of people if that was nurses and the building probably would fall... I am not sure why it is not removed which does not take a time to change it, if you are worrying about complains they just have to get used to it and learn to play.

I am not saying changing vip from main objective, I mean adding another objective. You have to extract the VIP but also collect a briefcase, there would be two teams, one is going for briefcase, one team escorting VIP and couple staying outside, snipers in the building camping watching their backs, securing places for safe extraction. Imagine what tactical gameplay it would be, I mean it would be amazing, more challenging and would bring more teamwork gameplay to this game.

And about the roof, all you have to do is remove the fans, ventilators and add something else instead, just a few cover spots, maybe remove every object that is on the roof and re add railing or just leave empty roof, of course it will be hard for ambush to have a good chance in killing but you can also change ground height. I also thought of idea in adding another garden on the roof, grass and small trees. It would be harder for escort to see the enemy.

Lets not forget what people has always asked for devs. They always asked for teamwork game play. If you can bring more challenge, more fun in the game that would require teamwork I think it would be absolute amazing.

Sadly, the few ones that still play the game aren't looking for challenge. They look for easy kills, it's pure and simple.

Like Koden said, the 6-round swap is theoretically an amazing idea, it would bring some different scenarios, but I've seen a lot of people just leaving the server when they couldn't join defence (no names mentionned), I've seen people reconnect 10 times to join the team they wanted to be on ... So if you're gonna force them to play assault they'll just quit and come back later ...

About the other questions, I'd say go for it, the more polls, the more info, but this shit with coop has to stop lol poor eliz

What I offer is to lower the points you gain in Hospital, because that's where all the frag whores are going to. This way (hopefully) other maps are played. I have actually played Alley yesterday and it was amazing map to get to know. Most of the players can't be bothered learning new map and frag whores don't want to hurt their silly frag in the old game. I would just recommend (for frag whores) to join COD, most of the players just going solo, I mean medics don't even heal you, but they run away and ignore you or they just simply tk you because you are red or annoying them.

I mean auto switch would be awesome, why devs should listen to frag whores that complain? They should be happy that they got their honour and game running.

Also I would like to include ''Ban Happy Admin'' idea. Like I said in the shoutbox, you should be able to advertise your own ads on other clan servers, letting them know what will happen if any ban without reason occur. You let the clan leader know that he kicks the ban happy admin from the clan or they won't be able to host server/s. I think this is like the best idea possible at the moment to stop ban happy spreading because it seems currently this is the most annoying case to be dealt with, same goes with those 4 maps that are played the most, (pipeline,sf hospital, urban assault,bridge crossing + sf pipeline). You should be able to control server even tho they pay money for it, because you are letting them host and you are running the game. (Seems to me that you are too much scared to do things, too scared to change things because of the complains, well like I said they need to get used to it, because you are now jumping around the frag whores like an idiots and not listening to us who try to give best solutions). It all requires dedication and time but I doubt anyone is willing to do anything around here because its a voluntary work. Anyway I think I said enough and hopefully these ideas will come handy at some point later:)

About the ban happy admin point from AAC:

We can't and shouldn't tell clans who can or who can't be in their clan. The best we could do is not let those kinds of people be admins on a server.

However, all this monitoring servers and stuff would be a considerable amount of work for very little benefit. I doubt there would be many clans who would appreciate being told what they can or should do with their servers. Besides, it's nearly impossible for us to know whether or not there was a valid reason for a ban on a certain server.

What about telling them to take that admin crown, not kick and everyone is happy:) You should be able to tell them the most important rule not be be ban happy admins, only 1 rule and it doesn't hurt anyone, nor it is an order or something that changes their server rules.

side switch every 6 rounds  is a great ideia, specialy for escort whores like atas nubs who got raped last night playing ambush all in same team without their tipical spy on other team, go for that side switch but without admin being able to turn it off.

Maybe the roof "bug" could be solved with a thin playerblock object placed on the roof ground to raise it of a couple inches (the playerblock object is an invisible element which can be used to sort/create collision with either ingame objects and players). It could look like players are floating a couple inches over the floor ground, but it's really easy to do and won't be noticeable as much as modifying the roof as a whole.

Yes but who cares that they cry? they can cry its allowed:) Frag whores only cries so its ok to piss them off and listen to normal players who would like to play more towards teamwork than solo, like 10 times i was calling medic out he just ignored me, its ok...

Don't need to, that's what the polls are for. We should gather information on possible ways to fix it then let the community decide. Someone will always hate a decision, that's how democracy works.
