Title: Cycling holidays
Post by: Ganja on Monday, May 11, 2015, 10:49:03 AM
I'd like to go biking with some friends during the holidays.
The main idea would be:

Biking through wonderfull areas with 5 other guys and find random camping spots.

Do any of you guys have anything to suggest in Eutope, a country with nice cycling routes and landscapes?

Dolomites offer an impressive landscape, and should be fun for cycling (although the road its steep). They usually race some stages of the Giro d'Italia (bike race) over there.

Don't know about camping spots, there are at least a few probably.

You just had a holiday  :D
when I am in Greece I always see these crazy Germans cycling around in the mountains in
the damn hot weather - not for me lol - too much work for a Holiday

I think France or Italy would be the best choice

For the moment we are planning to do something like Firenze - Roma but I'm not sure how hard/easy it is and if there's a good infrastructure for bikes (like bike-road or whatever you call it).

I also heard Italians were kinda crazy drivers

both, fierenze and rome are just great. wonderful, they have to be visited.
you now start to impress me Ganja. this is good what you are doing now. the only problem at fierenze is to land there with a plane. maybe you can not because of the wind - then you will land at pisa. but this town also is a part you should see while you are on this planet.

but

rome. this is the most beautiful city I did ever seen. its a open air museum. and nice people and good looking girls all over. its the Italian part as it. enjoy, enjoy and enjoy!!

you can and should go there by feet, but also with bikes its ok. they do not drive crazy - yes they do - but not with high speed. a lot of traffic all around, so no need to be scared with a bike.

and say hello to the pope - its a friend of mine.

but if you go by car, you can make a stop everywhere. its just a perfect part of Europe - this Italian one :)  have fun!

They're all great places to visit. Personally i prefer Siena, because it doesn't have as much traffic as Florence, and the historical town centre is another little place you can enjoy a lot. And the Terre di Siena (the lands nearby) are charming.
