That has been included since a few version.
We call it spam protection, it separates nades and 203's, so it's up to the server owner to set what value(seconds) the rule should be.

from aa25.ini:

what was that tool called when u fired a nade b4 the set time , u get capped or auto kick or something like that

Not many AA players come here and realize the work that's being done, because of this, they probably don't even know about spam protection. I say set it by default to 15 or 20 seconds. Let the server owners change it if they want but make it enabled by default.
It's like shaving your pubes to make your junk look bigger.
Might look bigger, but it aint.....

That's actually a good idea IMHO.

there is no clear majority decision untill now
Two big camps
so camp 1 - spamprotecttimenades = 0
                           spamprotecttime203 = 15
so camp 2 - spamprotecttimenades = 0
                           spamprotecttime203 = 300 << 5 minuts to the whole time

then other admins will recognize that there is such a rule.

another thing about that: would be great if admins could also set the counts for the kicks needed. now its by default 5 and it can not be changed. values from 1-5 would be great.

I can play this map with or without..

The original developers created this map with 1 m203 in any SF M16 rifle, so it's should be back without any spam rule..

lets have a "anti camp rule" auto-kick to any 1 who sit in the same place for more than a minute and half..

I think it's important to remember than the anti-spam rule was largely introduced onto servers that were SF-modded. When everyone had 203's, spam became an issue. It was also helpful on servers that ran urban to prevent mid-alley 203's.

I think something important to remember about spam is that it's just that - blind nade firing. I realize that the general argument made against 203's in the past was either spam or scaring away new players. Without some sort of quantifiable data on the second point, I feel that it is moot - it's just conjecture at best. At most (without data), it's a thinly veiled way of whining about the first point. If you just sit back and wait for a few seconds, let the nades land, you can rush as you please. In any and all cases, spam puts the spamming team at a deficit if the nades do not land. Conserving the 203 until later is much better for actually playing the map so you can use it when you actually see an enemy, and keeps the enemy guessing as to whether you have nades left to use.

@w!ck!d: not longer. what i would like to see is setting the spam rule to something like - shooting a 203 within the 20 seconds, the player should be kicked, maybe a 2nd chance, but then kicked.

so i need to set the rule to 20seconds no spam, but there will be always 5 times to violate the rule until he will get kicked, because you can not change the 5 to another value. this should change to a free value every admin could select. also the ban time (i guess around 45 minutes actualy) should be changeable by admins. this would be really great.

hope ELiZ will read that :) - ik, he will :D

Merlin, how the spam rule works right now (if I remember correctly from ELiZ's original posts) is that it won't actually let you fire a 203 before the time is up. It will just disappear. So you can't really violate the rule as nothing happens when you do.

oh, that would be nice. but i remember when i used this new rule, it worked for me like "if you shoot a 203 within the time you should not, then you got a warning - like the one from running and reloading together with that shaky part. after 5 warnings, you will be kicked for - i guess 45mins.

maybe i did something wrong. i will try it again. thanks for the hint.
